Post subject: Why were many MK actors replaced? |

Katalin Zamiar (played Mileena, Kitana, and Jade in MK2)
- replaced by Becky Gable for UMK3 and MKT
Elizabeth Malecki (played Sonya in MK1)
- replaced by Kerri Hoskins for MK3, UMK3, and MKT
Daniel Pasina (played Johnny Cage in MK1 and MK2)
- replaced by Chris Alexander for MKT
Ho Sung Pak (played Liu Kang in MK1 and MK2)
- replaced by Eddie Wong for MK3, UMK3, and MKT
...and so on
What are the reasons for these replacements?

I would guess that the people didn't want do play them anymore... or they are better in apperance to suit the chachteras

I heard that there was some legal actions between some of the actors and the Mk team.

well we all know dan pesina played the ninjas aswell, but his brother carlos played raiden
and he WAS in MKT (and the voice of bo rai cho in deception, but anyway...) it seems strange to me that one brother carryed on working for MK, and another would stop...

I know for a fact that Daniel Pesina was fired. I think he was advertising using Johnny Cage w/o the Mk team's permission. But i also heard that Katalin Zamiar (Mileena, Kitana, Jade in Mk2) and Elizabeth Malecki (sonya in Mk1) had problems with the Mk team and i was wondering if anyone can clear this up.

All the actors you mentioned took Midway to court, because they thought that they were not getting there share of royalties. Midway won the case but yeah...after that, those actors couldn't work for the company agian.

No..I dont think it would have made a difference honestly,but maybey something might have changed if they stayed.

I personally prefered Katalin Zamiar than Becky Gable to play Mileena, Jade, and Kitana.

I thought Becky Gable rocked....It's so hard to find stuff about her on the net, I looked for ages once and nothing. I wanted to have a gallery for her :s

Well its not Becky Gable herself. Its the costume design for Mileena, Kitana, and Jade for UMK3 and MKT. The costumes were ugly, and the hair being tied into buns were horrible. It also bugged me that Kitana and Jade were pallet swaps of Mileena.

No. If you look in the character biography cards in Deception for Mileena, Jade and Kitana, then you would see that Becky Gable had only been wearing Mileena's costume, meaning it was later changed to blue and green by a computer.

I liked the UMK3 costumes, they were sexy. The hair in buns was a bit weird...but I guess it's understandable that a female warrior would tie her hair up when getting into a fight.
