you tell me. think about it. why was he in mk1? to kill sub-zero
why was he in mk2? he heard that subzero was alive.
at the end of mk2, scorp realised that it was a different, innocent sub-zero, thus he decided to protect him.
in mk3, with no reason to fight sub-zero, he didnt get involved. by umk3, kah had invaded the netherrealm and asked scorpion to join him, which he did.
he was however killed and sent back to the netherrealm when he realised that sub-zero was chosen to be killed by kahn. noone knows which bad guy sent scorpion back, but you can decide that.
by mk4, in order to defeat sub-zero, quan chi needed the power of a spectre and therefore said that it was actually sub-zero 2 that had killed his family cln, creating the bitter rivalry once more.
having found out that quan hi did it all along, scorpion and sub-zreo stopped being enemies and are technically allies despite what is said in their bios in recent games.
in mkda, he xchases quan chi but is thrown into the soulnado by moloch and drahmin.
in mkd, quan hi is presumed dead but will undoubtedly return one day (mark these words, he and shang tsung will return) but scorp has a new story. as the soulnasdo links to heaven and the nexus, sorpion was whuisked away where he first laid eyes on the elder gods who transformed him into their personal assassin to destroy all evil and ensure the existence of the realms.
mk7-
scorpions new found storyline ensures that he will return in every single mk game to come as there will always be an evil that the elders want destroyed. they will never again take every masked ninja out of a game like they did in mk3 and are incredibly apologetic for any inconveniences that everyone experienced as scorpion is the favourite character as voted for by you on the tmk poll. 
now let us never bring the subject as to why scorpion was not in mk3 up ever again.

characters should die, and only be playable on trilogy type games, it be a good way to get a few fans that left after the downhill of the franchise, but it will never happen  cus people are too inlove with characters, and choose to ignore new ones and denie they are wrong, so what does midway do? they do what the fans bitch about and those same fans start to bitch about something else, there is no winning, me on the other hand, would not mind a few changes, but ofcourse donth kill off all characters, make it more belivable. im done with my rant, sorry
