Eh... she is the same, minus the dagger, and in MKAr's case, a whole fighting style. But honestly, i only really used her Lui he Ba Fa anyways, so she works the same for me.

True, but Li Mei was the first MK character that I used when getting into the MK fandom. Baji Quan is the fighting style that comes to mind when I think of Li Mei. Also, it felt way different when I played as her in Deception. Her voice sample was different (significantly lower), completely different costumes, a remodeled face, and a different feel with her special movies. Idk, maybe I'm just digging too much into it.
It's interesting to note though, that even though no one in Armageddon uses Baji Quan, that fighting style is style is offered as a stance for the Kreate-a-Fighter mode.

Yes, she´s totally different in Deception. And I like the change. I liked Mi Zong in Deception, I´m good with Kunlun Dao and her Lui He Ba Fa is classic 
Besides I find her much more beautiful in Deception/Armageddon than in MK:DA.
And to be honest- I didn´t care about her much in MK:DA, but since Deception, she´s one of my favorite characters

Yeah, she still is awesome in Deception/MKA no doubt.
I wonder how she would be in future games, if they don't kill her off.

i hope they don't kill her off. i'm actually pretty good with li mei in mka and i think she would be a great fighter to use for beginners in mk8.

I mean they have something great going with her story. They can keep her and expand on that inner evil inside her.
