My friend was playing chess kombat (GC version of MKD) and he fought with someone. He was Sub-Zero and the opponent was Ashrah (I believe). As the fight waged on, he froze her and went up to attack her. As soon as the attack landed, she did a comber breaker, WHILE FROZEN. What is up with that?

personally I think the whole breaker thing is cheap. But, Ed Boon has said that he likes giving players a free shot. Plus, it gives you more of a challenge in the game, you have to fight more stratigically than just bashing buttons to get a combo.

I too, agree that breakers are cheap but you get hurt doing a breaker anyway so it's not ridiculously cheap. I also agree about doing a breaker while frozen is dumb but you could do a breaker almost anytime (durning a grab or even when your in the air occasionaly)

o_O

How is breaker, at any degree, cheap? Breakers help balance the gameplay.

And, those who use breakers constantly are stupid, first off. Note that you only get THREE breakers during battle, so if you run out, you can't stop the other person from beating you to death with a long combo if you didn't block.

So, there's more strategy involved this way, and either player can't rely a couple of deadly combos alone. What's so bad about that strategy? It balances the gameplay, and makes the game more challenging. Unless you don't like a challenge, I think Breakers are perfectly fine.

(Personally, I don't particularly like a fighting game that is solely based on who does the deadliest combo first. Not very balanced, or fun.)

Furthermore, I don't see the argument in being able to Break if you got attacked while frozen. Your attack STILL did damage, and Breakers DO NOT deal damage anyway. At least you made them use up a Breaker, so you still got something good out of it o_O.

So in the end, after all I have said, what is there to really complain about?

Yes there is something to complain about... you see I was playing arcade mode with scorpion when I got all the way to noob-smoke (this happened when I first got the game and sucked with scorpion at first)and I died once and he died once I had no breakers he had one he had almost no life left and I was pretty empty too I was about to pull off a big combo when noob used a breaker and did that freakin teleport move I lost and got so angry I threw the controller on the ground and started yelling and screaming and accasionly swearing until I was dripping with sweat and calming down then I tried again and noob did the same thing!!!! Very Mad I tried yet again and resulted the same I got so angry I played as ermac and kicked the crap out of noob-smoke!!!!! You see breakers suck!!!! Very Mad Very Mad

Yeah, you're complaining, but it's not at the expense of the Breaker system itself. So, still, your argument isn't getting anywhere.

You just ended up with no breakers while Noob-Smoke had one left. There was still an equal handicap for you and the opponent when the game started (3 breakers each). The CPU just outmatched your strategy since he made you use them up before the going went rough. It's not because he had better moves. It's not because he revived himself. It's not because he had more breakers. There was no unfair advantage at all. The CPU simply outsmarted you. And you are simply a better player with Ermac.

With Scorpion, either you manage your breakers better, or work on your strategy so you don't have to use them up so quickly. No way can you tell me that Scorpion has a disadvantage over Noob-Smoke solely because of the Breakers. It's not the system's fault. It's your lack of skill.

Just keep practicing with Scorpion, and you'll beat Noob-Smoke easily, and then, hopefully, you'll appreciate the system. A CPU Noob-Smoke didn't have any unfair advantage over you. Especially because you are playing the CPU. The CPU tends to be repetitive and predictible...even at the highest difficulty. Learn to anticipate them, and use that to your advantage.
