Cyrax's "blow up the world" fatality was originally in MK3 and UMK3. |
Yes, but it was Robot Smoke's fatality, not Cyrax's. |
Ok. It was origanlly Smoke's fatality in UMK. But Smoke never had the power to throw one of the ball-like bombs like Cyrax. So they switched it to Cyrax in MKGold. What do you guys think of Nightwolfs Fatalitys in MKD? I think there crap... _________________ There is no knowledge that is not power...

To me, Jax takes the cake for crappy fatalities in MK3. Both of his fatalities are based on things he can't do, like grow 100X larger and morph his bionicly enhanced arms. _________________ ~S-Wind

Better fatalities came in MK 4. Look at Scorpion's sting fatality where he rips his opponent in half. All new characters and finishing moves. May I remind you of the prison stage fatality where an opponent was shredded into pieces, or Goro's stage fatality, where an opponent was gored in all areas of the body by a bed of spikes. _________________ Highest Kreate-A-Fatality: 11 (Ultimate Fatality)

I can't say who's fatality it was originally, but the blow up world one was definitely RoboSmoke's in MKT.
I always thought the Cartwheel fatality was poor. At least he had the dragon fatality in MK2 - my fave of all time.
But talking of rubbish fatalities - I direct your attention to the Arcade Drop fatality in MK3 and MKT. He morphs into a an arcade machine and drops onto his opponent. What happened there? Where they high when they came up with that? Was it 3am on a drunken pub crawl when someone on the Midway team said "Wouldn't it be absolute quality, right, if we had a fatality that was someone being killed by an arcade machine?" To which his astounded colleagues - rather than pointing out the sheer idiocy of this idea in itself - argue: "Nah, how would we do that? We'd need to, like, have it as a pit fatality, and that would mean setting fights in an arcade. That's just, like, stupid." "Oh," says the brainiac who devised the idea. "but, what if like we had a character who could morph into an arcade machine and fall on the other guy?"
This was greeted with much cheering and adulation, and so remained the task of appointing the character lucky enough to have this fatality. "What about Johnny Cage?" "Nah, no-one takes him seriously enough - fatality like this is gonna be the crowning jewel in our...um...crown. Need to give it to someone important. Like Lui Kang!" "Yeah, Lui Kang! He's the most significant and important character in the game! Let's give him this fatality as the uh...crowning jewel in our crowns!" "You said that already." "Oh, beg pardon." "Quite alright."
This decided, they all rushed off to Midway and coded it in before passing out from sheer drunkeness. Presumably no-one remembered about it before they released it - the only reason I can think of that it was still in the final version.

Almost every Liu Kang fan will fight the fact that that is one of the coolest fatalites in th game... But I, personally, don't think it counts as one AT ALL. _________________

I always thought it counted because, when the uppercut came, they flew ridiculously high up. Way higher than a normal uppercut. So I think the splat kills them, like on the Pit 2. _________________ Ba-Joing!

Okay, time to wrap this up once and for all.
There are 2 possible kill factors in Liu Kang's cartwheel uppercut fatality:
1.) As others have already mentioned in previous posts, this fatality does send the victim a great height. Obviously, a fall from such a height would be enough to kill someone, especially seeing as they end up landing on their back. (Also, the force of the impact would smash one's skull, although the shock absorbed by the brain would be enough to kill them without needing them to bleed to death first.)
2.) If someone took an uppercut to the chin THAT HARD, the force of the hit would probably send their head back far enough for the neck to actually break.
Okay, that's all I have to say on the matter. Case closed. The End. _________________ "We don't choose to be what we are. Only who we are, what we do, and how much pie we can scoff down until we're well 'n' truely bloated."
