I bought this game when it came out the first day for Gamecube. Just because I enjoy the MK franchise so much, I kept myself away from reading all these posts about secrets, and spoilers just so I could keep that experience alive when I got my copy for GC, and I have to tell you, the GC version simply rocks. I only played it once when I first bought it, then I didnt play it for a while because I got too busy, then I finally got into it 2 weeks ago.
At first, I found the controls to be a little different from the MK: DA. The response time for moves was a litte slower, but the combos are easier to do than before.
Everything about this game makes it one that I dont want to give up for any reason.
Konquest mode was a blast, and I'm not done with all the little side adventures, but I got all the playable characters, including that Zombie Lui Kang. Sure some parts are kind of cheesy and/or awkward. I dont understand how a hiding Queen Sindel, can walk around in those undies without being noticed by those guards walking around and also how Katana can walk around the village in those tight yummy blue underwear without anyone noticing, etc, etc. But hey this wasnt supposed to be a 40hr RPG either. It did the job though. I enjoyed it greatly.
I hope they keep Konquest mode for future sequals in the fighting franchise.
Onaga is a bad ass boss, but having Goro and Shao Khan at your disposal makes the experience of fighting him, much richer. And the multi-tiered fighting and death traps is what I have been waiting for in the MK franchise.
This game simply rocks. Even though I've only played it less than a dozen times. I'll be playing this for a while.
