Well think about. Two sub-zeros? its kinda lame.
I think classic sub-zero was there to only have the ninja form of S-Z available (along with the other ninjas) because the MK3 sub-zero was unmasked.

Ignore ending in MKT as it's a cliffhanger and seems to be unimportant
Noob not having ice can be explained when he was alive the Cryomancer (Ice) was passed through bloodline I doubt it was spiritualy. His soul entered the Netherrealm and was Reborn in that realm hence his abilities and shape would reflect the environmental conditions. Same for Scorpon I doubt he had the abilites he possessed when he was still alive.

I CANNOT believe what i'm hearing this is unf*cking believable. no-one has told the truth for f*cks sake. Listen to me. Not to sound arrogant but i'm pretty sure I am the only one who an tell you this, considering the aove responses.
Q1. Are noob and subbie (mk1) the same characters?
-yes. they are.
Q2 How do you know?
-It was in Noob-Smoke's ending in MKD
Q3. How are they both in MKT?
-Sub-Zero's appearance is not technically canon, as it was devised purely to show every MK character from Mk1-UMk3. If you are not satisfied with this answer, just look at the appearance of Cyborg Smoke and Human Smoke. We know that they are the same character, yet he appears in both forms (despite it being impossible). It was a way to have all of the characters in one game.
Q4. Are there 1, 2 or 6 sub-zero's?
-In mk1, there was sub-zero. In mk2, there was the second Sub-Zero. These two are the only playable sub-zero's in the whole of Mortal Kombat. However, they are descendants of many other Sub-Zero's. (MK1 Sub-Zero=Sub-Zero 5 and MK2 Sub-Zero=Sub-Zero 6) BGTW, (MK1 Sub-Zero is the brother of Sub-Zero (MK2))
Q5. I want more proof.
-Noob Saibot was a loyal servant to Quan Chi and Shinnok yet he is not seen in MKMSZ: This is the prequel based around MK1 Sub-Zero. Noob Saibot cannot be there as he does not exist yet.
-Although Sub-Zero (Mk1) was not canon in MkT, his cliffhanger remains true whewther he was there or not. OPbvoiusly the shocking truth is that he is Noob Saibot and no-one else.
Q6. How did Sub-Zero become Noob Saibot?
-During the first Mk tournament, Sub-Zero was killed by Scorpion. Some say that this was when his gi and mask became black. He was sent to the netherrealm with an evil desire to remain there and serve Shinnok and Quan Chi. He was named Noob Saibot and Scorpion had no idea that he was the same Sub-Zero which he had killed.
Q7. Why was he renamed? (Other Questions)
-Noob Saibot is TOBIAS BOON backwards-the creators of the game. They had not thought of a bio for him at this point and it was until MKD was made that they noticed how perfectly the story fits together. Besides everyone had been brought back in some way apart from Sub-Zero, so it was a good idea. Besides, it gave Noob more history. Noob also had the knowledge to reprogramme Smoke as they were both ex-Lin Kuei.
If you see Noob-Smokes MKD ending, you'll see it confirmed several times. Noob coincidentally knew the ICE-shatter fatality, in case you wanted even more proof.
Please, please, please tell me that you understand everything I just said and that yiou know that I'm right and these opther guys have accidentally mislead you.

this is the best explanation i have ever read, much props, and to answer the question ofNoob Saibot5 sub was in the klan at this point, its when it actually shows the cyborgs its mk3 but that does not meanthey were barely made, this cyborgs where around in the story just not mentioned or showned, besides it makes sence because the older sub on mk1 was evil while in mk2 he was good, perfect for noob saibot

so subzero's mk2 is the sub-zero's Mk3, but he didn't have yet any scar in mk2
