Has anyone noticed that in Mortal Kombat The Movie that no really bleeds even the tiniest bit (barring Scorpions part because that is not really blood in my view & the part where Shang Tsung cuts his lip) I mean Jonny Cage was brutalised fighting Scorpion and he had no cuts or brusies!

Well maybe they're trying to make it realistic, unlike the games where you punch someone in the chest and 100 pounds of blood pours out of places that I don't want to think about.

They wanted the movie to appeal to all audiences so they made it more of an action type movie than a gore-fest.

Correct in the fact that you measure liquid by volume. But blood does have a mass/weight to it. A Gallon of water (roughly 4L) weighs 8 pounds. So guessing that blood weighs more (blood has a lower viscosity and has more cells and other things like plasma in it) a gallon of blood may weigh as much as 12 pounds. But let's say 10 just for simplicity's sake.

So we have 100 lb. of blood. That may equal 10 gallons of blood. See? Isn't science fun? ^_^

The movie was Rated PG-13 in the US and PG in Canada. The reason they couldn't have the huge amounts of blood was because the rating boards back in the 90s they are actually more slack now because the movie business is losing money because of ticket prices. And because Midway wanted to make more open to a larger market, just like spawn, they watered down quite a few elements. Namely, the gore factor.

exactly, movies rated R normally make less than a PG-13 movie, and its do to the amount of people that would not be allowed to see it. the only exeption is the PAssion Of The Chist, that movie is the only movie rated R to make so much money and allow children

ACtually, brining up the Passion of Christ in this has nothing really to do with gore for Mortal Kombat. THe Passion of Christ was based of a real event. The only fictional thing that i could find about that movie was that Jesus (never thought i would say Jesus in a MK forum) had a huge chunk of skin ripped off from his legt side. Surly, by the time he got up the moutain, he would ahvemost liley been closer to death thena the movie or bible says.

Anyway, one punch pouring out 4 gallons of blood should only be in the cartoons.

i disliked that movie, greatly. They missed out on quite a bit i thought, but anyway your right with the passion of the christ getting funds and money etc.

Twisted Evil Even though there was almost no gore, I liked it. It would have sucked to see real people ripping heads off, considering the fact that it is waaay easier to chke or break a neck.

On the other hand, there should have been a cut when Jonny Cage almost got his ass kicked while fightin Scorp. Twisted Evil

they need blood and gore but they need to make it look good. fe, if they show a really hard hit some blood should fly out, and if they have like sub's spine rip they should make bones snapping and it takes 10 seconds for him to rip the head from pulling on it. for scorps toasty, they can make him burn them and make the burn look graphic.

No matter how bad you say the first movie was, the second is much worse. The acting was horrible. At least they tried in the first one.

It's a good thing they didn't put blood; it would just look really crappy anyway! I'd rather there be no blood rather than cheap blood!

they might put blood in this next one because blood in movies looks much more realistic now. so they should add blood.

I think blood, no matter how good it may look, will take away from the overall feel of the movie. Now, granted 90 percent of what happens in the movie is unrealistic, having characters loose gallons of blood in each match will just make it even less realistic.
