As long as these characters are in it then I'm all fine and dandy.
Kabal, Cyrax, Hotaru, Ermac, Sektor, Rain, Shao Kahn, Kung Lao, Ashrah, Kitana, Noob Saibot and Smoke.

I think all the ninjas, both human (yes, reptile, like MK2 or UMK3) and all cyborgs (except smoke, he needs to be in human form) should return as already playable characters, along with old shang tsung (MK1 version), johnny cage (with low blow attack), rayden, jax, liu kang, sonya, baraka, all the females ninjas (includes sereena and frost), kobra (needs to be more ninja-like, and not ken-like),quan chi, kabal, sheeva, kung lao, kano, and shao kahn.
The only unlockables should be the bosses, and when they are unlocked, they dont need to be nearly invincible, give'em weaknesses. The main boss in the game should be kintaro, his reign as a MK boss was too short lived.

really id like to see all of the four armed fighters come back they were all kick ass and all are fun to play as.

If Fujin returns - I can die happy 
I also wouldn't mind seeing Mavado again, as long as he has more abilities with those yo-yo things of his (he was so much fun to use!)

i heard that Fujin was killed, along with sheeva and most of the other characters that wernt important enough to bring back

so was Liu Kang but he managed to get resurrected, and he hasn't really won any popularity contests. + It would be easier to justify having Fujin back in the scene, being a god and all.

I have thought about it, and here is now who i think will come back and why:
1. Fujin. Reason: Raiden is kinda evil know, they might have him comeback to kick his ass.
2. Rain. Reason: Most Edenian characters have returned (Sindel, Jade, Kitana, Tanya) and to keep up with the trend, they will have the only known male Edenian fighter, Rain, return.
3. Stryker. Reason: With Raiden being kinda evil, and with Onaga's ramage leaving scars on every realm, Stryker will come back to try to bring back peace to his realm of Earthrealm.
4. Reptile. Reason: Now being free of Onaga's spirit, he can resume what ever it was he was doing...
5. Chameleon/Khemeleon. Reason: They hear of whats happend to Reptile and continue their search for him to tell him the truth behind their race.
6. Nitara. Reason: After living peacefully in her realm for so long, she decides to come to Earthrealm to feast on some humans. (and maybe run into our heros/villans)

yeah i can soo see fujin regulating Raidens ass, but then again with scorpian being the "choosen one" so to speak why not use him.
Al the rest i definately agree with. How about reiko or kai (believe thats his name) hahaha
