Post subject: What happened to Tournaments? |

You guys remember when the MK games were about a tournament. Ever since Mk3 the plot has been about war with outworld, the deadly alliance and the dragon king. Anyone up for a good old classic MK tournament plot again?

The Tournaments were the best, MK1 and MK2. Back then it was real Mortal Kombat, not Shao Khan's invasion or the return of the Dragon King. Yeah I agree with that, I wanna see the tournaments again

But the new tournament should be different. For example Earth (Kabal now rules the Earth as emperor and is VERY EVIL) wants revenge against Outworld and the Outworlders must defend themselves

I also miss the good old tournaments. With loud gong-gongs and hovering monks in purple robes. Or mystery characthers fighting on a Bridge further away.
Or the mystic secret fighters that appeared and gave you hints of how to find them.

I understand what you mean. There were a certain "atmosphere" or what you would call it. I am really looking forward to Shaolin Monks since some of the "atmosphere" could very well have been revived there since it takes place between the Shaolin Tournament and Shao Kahn΄s tournament in Outworld.

I would love it if the tournament style came back.
Maybe they could make it a bit like konquest
Like, you can walk around teh camp and stuff, and u have to train urself for the fights. Then if you are late to your fight it counts as defeat 
Lol just an idea, I didn't really think about it very much

Actually I was thinking alot about that idea and you brough it up lol. How I would picture it is either you have a konquest type thing that while you are doing it unfolds the story of your character in between mkd and mk7 and you just learn more about your character and fighting styles and unlock things along the way. And then you get to a point where MK7 happens and you then go into MK7 (tournament mode or something).
Or it could be like konquest but it would show that happens during MK7 and along the way you fight the characters and explore other places and collect hidden items and in the end you get to a point where you fight the boss (this would in a way be like the tournament from MK the movie). I'd like to se an interactive story mode (like konquest) in the next game. Would make it interesting and something different from other fighting games for a change.
Anyways that's my rant.
