The ? sign in MK always ment that a secret fighter was around. In MK2, I loved the sight of the ? box because I knew I could fight Jade. Who here wants the ? box to re-appear in Mortal Kombat (thus, bringing back hidden fighters)

IT was really only a MK2 thing, but in UMK3 when you used Human Smoke his pic was a ? mark. But they seemed to have ditched that it the later games mk4-mkd.

that would be great if they came back.they where in konquest mode in decptuon but that wernt significant or hidden chrecters.

It would still be cool though! If they do make another Trilogy they should include the ? box/hidden fighters because they made the game worth playing.

When you say hidden characters do you mean ones that you just fight (like MK2 Jade) of ones that you fight and unlock when you beat them (like in Super Smash Bros)?

A cool way of doing a Mortal Kombat game would to have all "?" for all the fighters, not too mix em up with the others, so that you have no idea who your fighting next, makes it a little trickier.

which characters would have the question marks?
and are we talking about bringing back old characters to fight or whole new characters?

im talkin about both! Characters like Chameleon and Motaro could make returns as ? fighters and new characters could also be introduced (like an enigmatic fighter who has glowing eyes and a cloud of mist covering their bodies so they stay mystery) Or, if you bump into the ? box, you fight a round of old school kombat (just say for example, that you are Reptile, and you havent fought Mileena during arcade mode, you would play a round as Reptile in MK2 against Mileena at the portal)
