what if smoke comes back like everyone wants but is a bad guy...say he pretends so still be with subby but in the back of his head something triggers where he remembers that one monet when he got caught by the lin kuei? when him and sub tried to excape it didn't say anything about sub trying to help smoke free..i mean in smokes mind he could have just taken it as sub was like "well sorry buddy, better your life then mine..ta ta" then takes off and leaves smoke to be taken...get what i'm tryin to say?

Nah... I wouldn't like that. I'd prefer something like...
Sub-Zero discovers his friend as a malfunctioned cyber ninja wandering aimlessly somewhere outside the Kuatan Palace. Sub-Zero is able to contain the confused cyber ninja, who attempts to fight back. After disabling him, Sub-Zero takes him to the Lin Kuei headquarters. With the help of some others, Sub-Zero is able to undo the automation that Smoke under went so long ago. Though his Human form intact and his soul back, Smoke has barely any memory of his former life. Sub-Zero tells him everything, though Smoke is reluctant to believe most of it. Sub-Zero wishes for Smoke to help to bring down the Alliance that threatens the realm. With Sub-Zero's help, Smoke his able to tap into his former fighting skills, and also is able to develop special skills from the mystic energies of ancient Lin Kuei relics that Sub-Zero has acquired. Though still short on memory of his history, Smoke is determined to help his old friend and his allies. He also desires a way to find his former thoughts.
Just an idea. I can come up with better stuff when I put my mind to it.

If Smoke did have his own abilities enhanced by the dragon amulet that Sub-Zero is wearing now, would that mean that he'd get smokier? To the point of PigPen like proportions? So smokey you could barely see the arena or the fighters? Would Smoke die of carbon monoxide poisoning from being so smokey? There's just so many questions.

Who said it was the Dragon Amulet? That's Sub's. Maybe some other artifact... but I don't think it'd be smokier or dying of CO poisoning or anything stupid like that. -_-
He'd probably get more powers to revolve around his smoke... like a blinding mist or a cloak cloud. Possibly even some fire-like moves. But nothing similar to Scorpion. He could have a teleportation move to replace the Teleport Punch he never should have had. Possibly even some smoke bombs, leaning toward Stryker? See, you can pick up ideas from all characters, but many things can be original, as well... Like a new weapon for him. I'm thinking a sickle sword or a large morning star.

I agree that Smoke is really cool.I liked both Smokes.I don't care if he return as a cyborg or human.
Here's something that could make people happy.Smoke should have a move that allow him to change forms.He could be either a human,or a cyborg.Both forms have different moves and fatalities.
Fatality for robot Smoke
Gun:A big gatling gun come out of Smoke's chest.The gun start shooting the opponent until he/she lose his/her skin.Lot of blood and pieces of skin fly everywhere.
