I'm hoping that Mileena is also a playable character 'cause she brings a unique touch in the game. If not, Kitana is my other choice

The Team have said there are 4 playables, we know 3 of them. Liu Kang, Kung Lao and Sub-Zero. that leaves a space for 1 more character.
I doubt it's Mileena...but MAYBE Kitana. She does have her own render and a backstory with Liu Kang.
This is just a guess, but I am hoping It's Scorpion that's playable myself.

Yeah scorpion is cool, i hope he is in there too, but only 4 playable characters????? If that's true then there better be other cool stuff in the game. In one of Ed Boon's movies i Heard each character has 10 Fatalaties (along side Multalities and Brutalities)
Here is a list of characters that i think should be among the playable characters:
Mileena 
Kitana
Kabal
Jade
Sindel

I pray that Kitana be a playable character in MKSM. If not Jade will do. If she's playable that is.

I doubt it will be any of them. I think Johnny Cage will be the 4th choice. It seems logical.

Well there is a level when you play along side Johnny Cage as a Ko-Op level, so maybe he is it...maybe not. I know Noob Saibot is in MK:SM, it could even be him as playable! We will just have to wait I guess.
Kabal and Sindel definatly won't be in it, as they wern't around in MK2 days.

Well , i definetly hope it's not Johny Cage, 'cause that would be the most boring character to think of ( I heard J. Cage is based on John Claude Van Dam  )
Sindel and Kabal and ... also could be in the game, maybe they were also disguised as one of the guards, just like Kung Lao
Anyways, I just think that There should be more characters, not just 4
