In MK2 for the arcades, in the early revisions there was a problem with reptile. What did they eventually fix?

was it that when you played against reptile the character would change colors do to reptile and be a mesh of both characters that you use?

LOL, too obvious....
When Reptile spits acid on someone, the opponent turned a weird color and the game glitched up or something like that.
