not exactly. a 1k thread is more about the person themselves.
What happens in a 1k thread is the person who reaches 1k tells them about themsleves, their favorite MK games, how long theyve followed the MK story, favorite forum members....blah, blah, blah.

Who cares on what people do on other sites.
In an intro thread you tell people about you. If you tell them later theres no point because they will know you well enough. I would also be wasting my time on nothing. I also dont got the time to do all that crap because some people have a life besides the computer.
