What are you smoking? whatever it is give me some! Rain wasnt lame he was far from it! A ninja who controlled the elements, you gotta admit that was cool! True, he's underused and his story is very bare but he's pure gold in terms of attacks and costume, and im sure the MK team will be making him very damn cool in the next game!

I don't see how you can be so impressed by him 
Moves:
1)"controlling ball" thing that, from what I remember, does no damage itself.
2)teleport attack that's copied off another character
3)lightning strike (ok so this one's cool)
Fatalities: an uppercut, a lightning strike combo, and an elephant.....
Costume: same as any of the other ninjas - only pink!
Story: virtually non-existant!
So IF he is to return, I just hope the MK team tones him up a hell of a lot to make him into a unique and visually entertaining character. Because as you said - the idea of a ninja that can control the elements is pretty cool

I'm not one to mind Rain either.
I actually like all the ninjas.
I know he's not really a "character", more like a sub boss but Kintaro is rather "unused".
I mean he was only in 2 and Trilogy.
I don't really know much about his story either...
Maybe its just me but he was always just there to me lol

Leelong: His Water Bomb "A.K.A Controlling Ball", did do damage, it was as powerful as Ermacs fireball. His costume is purple, both he and Ermac had issues surrounding their attire. For example, I would say that Ermac was Orange in earlier games but others would say he was red, just like you would say rain was pink and I would say he was purple. He didnt have a telpeort attack, but his roundhouse kick would throw the opponent through the screen. Rains only special attacks were the Super Roundhouse, Water Bomb and Lightning Strike. I cant remember his fatalities but Elephants are cool!

Yeah after I read this thread last night I put in Trilogy.
I did the roundhouse as Rain and I was like whoa I don't remember that lol 
Plus the lighting strike is sweetness

i and many people think rain owns.the most undrsued of the popular chrecters IMO is propberly rain.he is in umk3 and mkt and he is very popular.

Ok so I couldn't remember whether his Water Bomb did damage or not - thanks for clearing that up.
Whether he was pink/purple wasn't really my point - it's the fact that if you were colour-blind then design wise, you couldn't tell the difference between him or Scorpion/Reptile/Sub-Zero/Ermac/Noob (other than the stances). If he had a totally unique look like Ermac did in MK:D, then I think he'd be more popular.
As for the roundhouse kick, did it deal extra damage too? Or would it enable you to setup for a combo? Because if it's only special feature was that it sent the opponent flying across the screen - then I'm sticking by my statement that he didn't have many cool specials, if you compare him to one of the other ninjas that is. (but it's been MANY years since I've played MK:T so if I don't remember certain details, my bad).
And about elephants....I have nothing against them either - lol! It's just that this is "Mortal Kombat", which straight away makes you think of blood and gore and intestines and blablabla - my blood lust just isn't satisfied by seeing a little baby elephant blowing it's trunk for an animality. And his fatalities were none the better.
onaga007: in that case we could say the same about MK:4's Kai, Reiko and Jarek - but by "underused" I think people are refering to the usage of a character in general, no matter how many appearances they made. For example I didn't mind Kobra (unlike a lot of people in these forums it seems!) but he was only in MK:D

Meat, Stryker, Rain, Shinnok, Fujin, Jerek, Khem/Chamealon, Nitara, Frost, Mavado, Dhramin, Moloch. I have only seen them playable in one MK game.

dude, once again...the new players dont count. people, stop naming off jarek, and moloch, and dairou and blah blah. im revising it to "up until Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3" NO cham/khameleon, They are NOT real characters people!!! they were exclusive to MKT and just morphed into the other ninjas. like a bonus. i know they were zaterra raptors like reptile or w./e but thats just MKT. up to UMK3.

Both Chameleon and Khameleon are real fighters. They both appear in the games as selectable fighters and therefore are real fighters.

But look at what I said before putting he was "a waste of space"......IMO. Meaning I personally favor other characters over him, and so feel free to state your opinion about any of the characters that I like (which is everyone.....except Rain!) lol jst kiddin'

sorry noob saibot5 but i disagree and never will agree about c/khameleon. just like meat or mokap, they are bullshit characters and were thrown in there as extras. theres no stupid ninja(s) that can "morph" into other ninjas and have no moves of their own.

Chameleon might not be real, but Khameleon is. Unlike Meat or Mokap she had a bio and and ending and is therefore a character.
