Again, endings of character's are not always canon and usually they aren't. My assumption was that he decides to spare Sub-Zero's life during MKII and then dies and is sent back to the Neatherrealm. In MKIII he manages to escape the Neatherrealm when Kahn fails to steal the souls from it.

I'd imagine that if he decided to protect Sub-Zero then he wouldn't turn on him in MK4 since he knows it is not that Sub-Zero that killed his family and clan, whether or not Quan Chi claimed so.
Since it is only in his MKII and MKIII ENDINGS that this concept appears (and his endings seem to mostly be not canon) there's a good chance that this doesn't happen.
I'd have to explore Konquest mode from MKDA and MKD though to be sure of this. It's just a theory, I'm not really sure what I believe on this subject.  Any excerpts from Konquest mode to support or deny the "Scorpion is Sub-Zero's guardian" theory? |
from MK1 to MKT only one ending happens at a time***. the rest is filled in to give a deeper story but since the protector thing comes from an ending more than likely its not true, it would strictly say in his MKT bio he was fightin against kahn because of sub zero but it doesnt.
***However let me say this whole one ending thing does confuse me, considerin in cyrax's ending he ends up in a desert. wheres the one ending thing come in? So now that i type this i wont believe that, i will follow what the bios say and if it doesnt support it oh well, its not true till confirmed other wise.
p.s. im not arguing with you im use your post as a referance...i suppose

if Quin Chi ever stops running away from scorpion then maybe they can get a decent fight in but last time they met scorpion had Quin Chi down and out near enought but there was interference which allowed Quin Chi to escape but i have to agree with people Quin Chi is not all that as a MK Fighter
