Because they are both two of the latest MK games that gives you the option to fight or to roam around.

I agree, they are two totally different games. Shaolin's single playa game is a bit short but absolutely fun, but once u plai through it after the 3rd time it gets severely boring, half the fun is trying to solve all the fun puzzles.
As for the vs mode sm has only 6 characters but pretty kewl and flashy moves. Newaiz deception has more lastablitity and is 4 old skool games, nothing pretty new though. Shaolin monks is actually "fun" sumtin u dont find in games these daiz.
