Heres something I dont get. Most fighters are only introduced from the tournament onwards, but there are questions I wanna know about them.
For example, how did Jade end up working for Shao Khan? And what of her parents? You know, stuff like that make me interested. If anyone can explain about the following that would be great.
(1) How does Smoke create smoke?
(2) How did Kitana not grow suspicious of Mileena's origins?
(3) Why did Liu Kang leave the Shaolin before Mk1?
(4) How did Kano come across the MK tournament?
(5) How is it that Reptile has no memory of Zaterra? Or does he?
If anybody else has questions, post them and see if they are responded to.

I'll try to answer by my knowlegde of MK or just a logical guess ^_^
1) He just has that ability. For example, how can Sub-Zero freeze? It's exactly like that.
2) According to MKSM, she was under a spell.
3) He left the Shaolin?
4) Well, in the comic, Kano hid on Shang Tsung's boat to lead Sonya to the MK tournament. He might have met Shang Tsung before, because he is a really infamous criminal.
5) I think he might a little. Maybe working for Kahn made him forget or he's forgetting due to his de-evolution.

A theory on Wikipedia states that Reptile lost both his mentality, memory and natural ability (to camoflague into a human) after his royal leader had died (Shao Khan). Note, Shao Khan "Dies" in Mk3, Reptile changes in MK4.
As for the rest, I dunno. Things seem a bit out of place, they should really explain about the characters origins a little more.

Good theory. But the MK team should have done a better job on the bio cards for Deception.

yeah, most of the bio cards just showed the actors who had their 2 seconds of glory and want more, or fatalities and attacks. they didnt really explain much ABOUT the character.

But this is what gets at me....
Ok, Sub-Zero's Kori powers are the reason he can make Ice.....but there is no explanation to why Smoke can create smoke clouds. I've always been curious about this.....I thought the Bio Cards or the Training in Deception would have sorted this out.
Some Questions
(1) If Mileena was cloned from Kitana, and given her memories, does that mean that Kitana can also fight in Ying Yeung, Mian Chuan and the Sai stance?
(2) It never tells us HOW Kano got his metalic eye, or why he got it.
(3) Where was Jade in MK4? Her Bio and Ending in Trilogy state she was an ally of Kitana.
(4) What happened to the Shirai Ryu? Did they just fall apart without Scorpion?
(5) How did Shang Tsung end up in control of the SHAOLIN tournament?
(6) Would Noob and Scorpion be classed as the same? both are spawned from their former lives and both are from the Netherealm

I thought the "royal leader" would be the matriarch of the Zaterran race.

yes it would be Chibi in normal circumstances, but Reptile was taken from Zaterra while young, he would have adapted to Shao Khan being his royal leader from a young age. But it is not known IF Reptile was taken from Zaterra while young, he could have had his memory erased by Shadow Preists, or, like Kitana, have been put under a spell. The only person who seems to be unchanged by these circumstances is Khameleon. Perhaps she is royalty? Who knows......

Jade ended up working for Kahn just as Sindel, Rain and Kitana did. When Kahn had defeated the Edenian forces in Mortal Kombat, they merged the realms and thus Jade was forced to work for Kahn or die at the hands of his extermination squads. I presume she stood by Kitana and just worked for Kahn while hiding under hidden motives w/ Kitana.
1.) Smoke, like Sub-Zero and Scorpion, has his own unique "magical powers". Where Sub-Zero learned to master ice, Smoke did the same with, well, smoke. His body simply emulates smoke since he has partially become it. He can dissapate and reform at will.
2.) She was under a spell and so she served loyally to Kahn. This is right out of MK-Shaolin Monks. I'm sure if the spell happened after Mileena's creation then she was already suspecious.
3.) Liu Kang "left" the Shaolin to participate in the first tournament against their will. They did not think he was prepared but he went anyways. He didn't really 'leave' per say since he returned to them once the tournament was over and he emerged victorious.
4.) Shang Tsung had hired him to lour Sonya into the tournament. He bribed Kano into participating for him in the tournament on the side of evil.
5.) He does. Reptile wanted Kahn to restore his race but Kahn would never allow it. He was now Kahn's servent so he remained loyal to him. When Shinnok appears he offers to fight for him as long as he restores his people and race but Shinnok is killed. (He wouldn't have anyways). When he evolves again in MKDA he still knows of their existance as Natara gives him a sword that belonged to his own race. But you have to remember, Reptile is a little, well, not quite with it in his head always.

1.) She may know the moves in her mind but she was not trained in them. Its like you can look at an instruction booklet but you still have to practise the moves before you can do them. So, no she cannot.
2.) I believe he got his eye after it was damaged from the special forces. Or it was a marking from a fight with other clans like the red dragon. I'm not fully sure about this one myself but there's probably something about it in Konquest somewhere.
3.) After MKIII, I believe Jade returns to Edenia when its being restored. She's then in charge of leading a movement to push Kahn's forces out and also to protect Queen Sindel.
4.) During MK-Mythologies Sub-Zero, Quan Chi hires Scorpion (member of the Shirai Ryu) and Sub-Zero (member of the Lin Kuei) to both go and find the map of elements or something. They both meet and Scorpion is killed. Sub-Zero returns with the map. As part of a deal Quan Chi made to the Lin Kuei, he assassinated the Shirai Ryu's clan leader and killed every one of them, including Scorpion's wife and child. He later blamed this on Sub-Zero so Scorpion went after him.
5.) Oh boy a lot of typing. Ok, here's an explanation I made in another thread about the original Kung Lao that also explains about the tournament:

So yeah, once he had begun fighting in it and using his dark sorcery, he had control. Then he was defeated. Once he got Goro involved, he basically ran the tournament.
6.) No, Noob is a wraith, Scorpion is a specter. Noob Saibot has no memory of his former life and is simply a hell-incarnate, his soul is tainted with evil. Scorpion remembers mostly everything and is given life to redeem himself against Sub-Zero. The only reason he keeps getting out of hell after is because Kahn and Shinnok continue to intervene with it. Noob Saibot would normally be stuck in the Neatherrealm too but Shinnok sent him to spy on Kahn during MKIII and so on.

1) I have no idea.
2) We don't know for sure. They never said, but I think so.
3) Sektor was in MKGold. For a detalied explanation, here is an excerpt out of a MK plot faq that Vainziler showed me. "Mortal Kombat Trilogy: Sektor was sent with Cyrax and Smoke to eliminate
Sub-Zero, a rogue ninja who refused to become a cyborg. At one point
Smoke turned against his programming and attacked Sektor and Cyrax.
Sektor may have killed him, but it's not certain. Sektor was not able to
locate Sub-Zero.
Mortal Kombat Gold: Sektor continued his mission to find Sub-Zero while
keeping an eye on the mentally damaged Cyrax. As far as we know, he
didn't really get much done.
Tournament Edition: After killing the Lin Kuei Grand Master because of
programming defects, Sektor met with Sub-Zero in a battle over the Dragon
Medallion and the title of new Grand Master of the Lin Kuei. Sektor lost,
allowing Sub-Zero to become the man in charge of the Lin Kuei. After that,
Sektor fled to Japan to start his own clan. There he found others willing to
join his faction: The Tekunin."
4) It is unknown. All i know, is taht he is not human.
5)Outworld. However, in the mentioned faq, it says that early MK2 concept showed Shang Tsung in a demonesque form. It's not certain if that is his true form or just an idea. I am not gonna take that seriously though.

1.) Most logical reason (from outside the MK universe) is that she was simply an extra thrown into MKT.
But in terms of MK storyline, I would believe that she was in hiding from Kahn, fearing that she was at risk of being killed with the rest of her species. When she found out about Reptile's survival, she decided to track him out during Kahn's invasion of Earthrealm when Kahn's forces were busy occupying that realm. Unfortunatly, Reptile's loyalty belongs to Kahn and he turned her down. Or, she was killed on her quest to snatch him off to make sweet love.  Something along these lines. I'm sure the MK team will reveal more about her in the next Konquest mode of MK7. So what I've said isn't really canon.
2.) No. Sheeva was killed during MKIII and has not been around since. Shao Kahn killed her. Here is an excerpt right from Kano's MKDA story in Konquest:

3.) After Mortal Kombat III, Sektor reports back to the Lin Kuei. He is then placed with the task of watching Cyrax since he is damaged after prolonged exposure in the desert. But Cyrax is freed from his mechanical body and Sektor returns to the Lin Kuei. (This is during MK4.)
There he murders the Lin Kuei master and prepares to take over the clan for himself. But Sub-Zero then returns from the ordeal with Shinnok with the dragon medallion. Both fight and Sub-Zero comes out on top. Sektor then flees to Japan where he attempts to build his own clan: The Tekunin. (This is just before MK-Deadly Alliance. During DA and Deception he is either still building up his clan or, in the case of when you see him in Konquest mode, it looking for parts to be repaired after facing Sub-Zero.)
4.) Shao Kahn is a natural born Outworld citizen. He poisons the dragon king and takes over, conquers Outworld and then began his brutal conquest of other realms.
5.) Shang Tsung is also from Outworld.
Hope that helps. Tricky questions though. After MK7 comes out hopefully we'll have a lot more answers properly revealed, especially regarding Khamelion.
