Liu Kang is the only fighter in the games to win the tournaments. Sub-Zero has been in every game.

I've actually been thinking about this very hard. Believe it or not, there has never been a single character that has been in EVERY MK game that's been playable.
Why? The only reason for this is because SO many characters were lacking from the original MK3 game, including Scorpion.
Although Sub-Zero was in it, the ORIGINAL Sub-Zero wasn't (Noob-Saibot).

My bad, I was unaware Noob was in MK3. But, he is NOT in MKDA! Aha!
Remember, I'm NOT counting Sub-Zero because there are two and I count them as individual characters. Noob wasn't in MKDA and Sub6th wasn't in MK1.
OK so here's a big list. All characters who are PLAYABLE:
Baraka - Missing from MK1, base MK3, MKDA
Chamelion - Missing from everything but MKT
Cyrax - Missing from MK1, MK2, MK4
Ermac - Missing from MK2, base MK3, MK4, MKDA
Goro - Missing from MK2, MK3, MKDA
Jade - Missing from MK1, base MK3, MK4 MKDA
Jax - Missing from MK1, MKD
Kabal - Missing from MK1, MK2, MK4, MKDA
Kano - Missing from MK2, MK4, MKD
Khamelion - Missing from everything but MKT
Kintaro - Missing from everything but MK2/MKT
Kitana - Missing from MK1, base MK3, MK4 and MKD
Kung Lao - Missing from MK1, MK4, MKD
Liu Kang - Missing in MKDA
Meat Missing in everything but UMK3/MKT, MK4
Mileena - Missing from MK1, base MK3, MK4 and MKDA
Motaro - Missing from everything but MK3/MKT
Nightwolf - Missing from MK1, MK2, MK4, MKDA
Noob Saibot Sub-Zero 5th - Missing in MKDA
Raiden - Missing from MK3, UMK3, MKD
Rain - Missing from everything but MKT
Reptile - Missing in base MK3 and MKD
Scorpion - Missing from base MK3
Sektor - Missing from MK1, MK2, MK4, MKDA, MKD
Shang Tsung - Missing from MK4, MKD
Shao Kahn - Missing from MK1, MK4, MKDA
Sheeva - Missing from everything but MK3/UMK3/MKT
Sindel - Missing from MK1, MK2, MK4, MKDA
Smoke - Missing from MK1, MK4, MKDA
Sonya - Missing in MK2, MKD
Stryker - Missing from everything but MK3/UMK3/MKT
Sub-Zero 6th - Missing in MK1
I think that's everyone from before MK4. Am I missing anyone? And look, its all in alphabetical order too! (Waaay too much free time on my hands...)
All the other characters are new and never appeared until MKDA or MKD I believe. Someone fill in what I've missed. But I have everyone from up to MKT I do believe (in alphabetical order). Since we know around MK4 and MKDA, MKD that a lot of the characters were brand new I did not include them
THEREFORE: There was NO character that has been in EVERY single MK game as a playable character. But Liu Kang has been in every one since he was in MKDA's opening cinematic, etc.

why didnt you just go through the charecters in mk1?if they wernt in that then they couldnt of been in anyother game

Shhh! Don't insult my methods!  lol.
Because I wanted to list all of them I s'pose...I don't know.  I guess it also looks more snazzy if I have a bigger post. And its just for the sake of pointing out which characters from MK1-MKT are missing in the other games etc.
