 Sorry if this isn't the same in Annihilation, but in the first MK movie, Scorpion's spear looked alive, but in the games, it was a spear on a rope.
this is confusing to me.

The films are a seperate MK universe from the games that is why many things are different.

If you watch any film adaptation of a game or comic it wont bee 100% true to the original. Take Resident Evil and Spiderman for example.
Directors are stupid.

But I have to admit the serpent spear of Scorpion in the MK movies were cool seeing that he is a specter.

In thats cene it was too predictable what was going to happen, you have trees, you have a spear serpent and you have a guy zigzaging away, what do you think is going to haooen?!?
I heard that either in dotr or the comic series scorpion had a gold chain for his spear.
