I think they have made Raiden evil. The logic is, they tried to kick his ass out once before (MK4). Now that he's evil, he'll be denied his rank of protector of earthrealm. Couple that with the fact/rumor that almost every old char. will be back.
Can we say Fujin?

If Raiden did become evil, then it wouldn't be much of a twist. I mean a lot of people are kinda expecting Raiden to go psycho....
One explanation that could happen is that Raiden could be possessed by Quan Chi or Shang Tsung and Raiden starts doing evil things like killing and stuff, then he can be the boss, and the objective is to defeat him in battle to release the evil inside him. Then he becomes good again....
That is one story that I could be okay with..

I want to see Raiden go nuts and drive earthrealm under his rule. Or something of that matter or similar. Even though most people are expecting it to happen it would still be cool to see in my opinion,

I think its about time for another TOURNAMENT, not side stories. That or Raiden needs to be the next last-level boss to kick some Earthrealm ass. I think its good he killed Shujinko 'cuz if he hadn't, the old guy would be too strong, having everyone's power and all. Shao Kahn must also return.

Yes, the old MK tournaments are over, but here is my new ´tournament´ story:
Raiden is very ANGRY. He wants to kill all people (the only way how to save Earthrealm in his opinion). The only chance for the ´chosen wariors´ is to compete in NEW Mortal Kombat Tournament against Raiden and his minions. The winner must face Reiden himself (boss) and save the humankind.
Just imagine the intro- Evil Raiden tells you that he must destroy all life! ´You can´t stop me, MORTAL!!!´
