Yes, but the tournament was originally created by the Elder Gods and held by the Shaolin Monks to defend themselves from an invasion from Outworld.
With the rebuilding of the White Lotus Society by Liu Kang and Kung Lao (refer to MKIII bios) we can assume that they will again hold the tournament, especially if Kahn is back in MK7 (which is pretty certain since he did appear in MKD in the Game Cube version with Goro, full storyline and everything.) Therefore Earthrealm will need to have the tournament to defend itself from a future invasion unless Kahn somehow finds a new way to enter Earthrealm without the tournament.
The only way he could before was because Sindel was reborn in that realm and she gave him access to it. But she is no longer his wife and so I doubt that will occur again.

But it is not just Earthrealm's safety anymore. Even Outwrold has to fend for itself right now.
And Edenia already has Outworld controlled and Shao Kahn isn't as strong as he was before.

With Kahn's return and Goro at his side, he will be able to lead the Shokan against the Edenians once again. The Tarkatan will be slaughtered, and Edenian's forces will once again fall. Earthrealm will once again be at risk.

Well honestly, would MK be the same with Shao Khan being a boss again? Now that we are exposed to a way different situation with the Dragon King and the danger of ALL realms rather than just Earthrealm, wouldn't Shao Kahn being the only threat gonna have the same effect?

I think that Raiden might go mad with his new powers and decide to wreck havoc on all Realms. Any one who gets in his way, he will destroy them, but through all of this, his demented, twisted mind thinks he's still protecting Earthrealm but in the end gets defeated or wins.

Ya know if he does go evil he could align with Shao Kahn Shinnok and Reiko. Of course Shinnok would probably want to kill Kahn because he's failed so many times. Besides, Kahn or Shinnok probably wouldn't want him back because of his past treason. And if Reiko and Kahn are now seperate people for some strange reason (remember Reiko was revealed to be Kahn in MK4) he might try to kill Kahn and impersonate him. But still, it's a possibility

if raiden b bad still fujin will cum out of bein an elder god since he replaced raiden wen raiden came back for mk da plus if he ids bad he gon take his killings slowly i mean thats how bad guys fight they cant finish the job so they take it out on little guys but only torment em mkkay jin out

Fujin actually replaced Raiden as the protector of Earthrealm, because Raiden became an elder god. Fujin was never an elder god.
