No because the quality is great in mp4 format, and most people have Quicktime which views mp4.

Why wouldn't you trust MP4's ? Yet I bet you trust MP3's which is an MPEG Audio Codec, MP4 is an MPEG Video codec...
If you get a broken quicktime logo, maybe you have an old installation.
