I didn't mind beating the hell out of Hsu Hao but he was just a filler kharacter.
Did anybody even pick him to fight seriously?
I know I didn't lol
I understand how some fans like Cho but I tend to like the seriousness of MK over the komic relief. I disliked when they made Cage into the total goofball.
I prefered him when he was more of the Van-Damme Action Star with a bit of arrogance and ignorance to whats going on around him lol
I still like his MK ll win pose more than any of the other MK ll khars.
And the uppercut fatality......What a move. (Especially in MK1 Turbo Ninja)

Yeah, but either way you slice it, goofball or not, that is still Johnny Cage.
I recall one time picking Hsu Hao to seriously fight. I was playing MKDA with a friend. I had picked my favorite character Reptile and literally owned the poor schmo. He told me to pick someone I ain't good with so he can have a fighting chance... So I picked Hsu Hao. I knew nothing about him... but what my unsuspecting opponent doesn't know about me when it comes to MK is... I am a quick learner. He told me to not use the Moves list, and I didn't, but...
I still figured out his special moves, and while they ain't all that great, they worked. I even figured out a nice combo attack with him that was pretty strong, and his weapon style ain't all that bad... too bad it's very similar to Kano's if not a bloody copy! Would ya look at that. Red Dragon copyin a Black Dragon's special move. TRAITOR!! When I won, my friend found it hard to believe that this was the very first real time I've ever played as Hsu Hao, but he suddenly began to believe me when I didn't know the fatality!
First match of the night my friend didn't get fatalitied! He was satisfied. He lost, but he was satisfied.

I don't know what you guys are talking about, but I saw Cage's name, so I'd like to point out that he sucks.
Well, he's pretty cool, but compared to other characters, he's a lame.

I must disagree with you there Riyakou.
I think Johnny Cage is a solid character and has earned his place in MK History. I think he's a great character and very powerful.
His attacks stand out, which makes him different, and while he can be harder to master than most, once you do, you will be very difficult to beat.
Any character can be like that, and some of Johnny's moves are harder to use than others, like the High Forceball and the Shadow Uppercut.

I agree with Hybrid.
Cage is an excellent kharacter to use.
I love playing as him (in MK ll anyway).
You can kombo a jump kick with the shadow kick and shadow uppercut.
You can mix up the low and high forceball to keep your opponent at a distance and you kan katch the opponent off-guard with the ball punch and then get an extra move after that.
Nobody should underestimate fighting Johnny Cage.
Hmmmm that was nearly a Johnny Cage rant lol
Not my fav kharacter but one of them.

Hsu Hao was far from a great character, but his weapon style was fantastic. Very easy to use, and the Sun Moon could inflict some serious damage.
I agree that Cage has become a complete goofball, but he has had his moments over the years. He was an awesome fighter in MKII, and sported some of my personal favorite combos in that game (second, of course, to Kitana). Once you got juggled by Cage, that was it, game over!
Reptile (who has also been mentioned in the last few posts) was another MKII favorite of mine, but he lost his charm as he lost his human form. These days I can hardly bare to look at him. If he reverts to his old self, I could quickly become a big Reptile fan once again.

I completely agree. Reptile IS my favorite, and since his "de-evolution" he's just not the same. I will still point out that this is STILL Reptile, and no matter what, he will remain my favorite, but, I'm sure we can all agree that he needs to come back as his plain out original self that we all love.

If he is to return after Armageddon, then I think a complete reformation to is old days is what's needed. No more dodgey "lizard-man" looks. He should be concealing his reptilian nature under his mask, just like it the old days.

I'm sure the MK Team will soon get the idea that the fans want the old Reptile back, so if he does return, give the fans what they want. I most certainly hope he returns! It would be a total letdown if he doesn't.

Hehehe, first to say, I don't like ANY character after MK4... or even MKT.
I had a loooong discussion about this with Riyakou, and I don't care what either of you say. 
When you look at the MKT characters... Each of them were different to their own.
Sure, the ninjas were just differently colored spritesheets, but they had their own story and movelist.
From Johnny Cage, to Liu Kang, Kung Lao, Sonya, Sindel, Shao Kahn, Kano, Jade, Kitana, all of these were great, they had a thing of their own and it was purely shat on top of later.
I honestly don't like Bo Rai Cho cause he just doesn't fit in my vision of MK.
Sure, he has a solid storyline, and is a partially comical character, but that can't even 'hold up a candle' for any of the characters I mentioned earlier.
And Hsu Hao, Kobra, Nitara and all of the other bastards can go straight TO HELL!

Well said amigos. I also would like to see Reptile return to his more humanoid form. Thats what was shocking about his fatalities and moves. Fuck hes a Lizard! lol MK4 Reptile sucked appearance wise. Looked like a Liizard Ninja form Aladin. Did you see those trousers he wore?
