Well, I just unlocked all the 'two player' secrets on MK:SM using only myself and two pads. Admittedly this takes most of the fun out of the game... but how much fun can you get out of a game that is so easy Sleepy Hopefully the next MK game will be as hard as the original Mortal Kombat.

I definitely miss the incredible difficulty from our original MK favorites, rather than the extra-long games. Is there even a difficulty setting in MKSM?

Topic: 7/10, normal

I think you get a choice of hard or normal... I remember when there was a very hard setting on MK games, which was almost impossible, but at least it was there if you wanted a challenge.

In MK2 on the easiest I can only get up to, sometimes, Kintaro. And on MK DA On Novice I can only get up to Moloch!

All you have to do with Kintaro is keep moving and hitting him with jumping kicks. Moloch is a pain in the ass, but if you can just do completely random moves and stances, the computer will get confused and can't figure out your style.

I found Moloch a walkover (after the first go or two) with a quite simple technique, block his attack then counter with a rather long combo. Dash back a tiny bit so as not to get thrown and block again. Rinse and repeat.
Kintaro is a different matter and as -SubZero- says, use the jumping kick, its one of the most effective techniques in the classic games in my opinion.

I know this is ot but for me the easiest way to beat up Moloch was to use shang tsung. Do his combo that is like kick kick kick punch punch change to sword sword sword (haven't played it in a while Razz) but it's the chain that goes to sword. Then block immediately. The sword move will push you far enough back not to get hit.

And when he's stomping on the ground do the soul suck. Dead in no time.

Yeah the long combo then block technique is by far the simplest and most effective technique (especially with a weapon) and the only one I ever used in the end. To be fair, it works on just about anyone quite efficienty, especially on Sholin Monks. It's so easy on there that you hardly even have to block unless your in a particularly sticky situation e.g. fighting the two flame guards along with Orochi Hellbeast (probably bad spelling). Thats the only part I had trouble with when using Liu Kang. With Kung Lao it's a joke, you can complete the whole game using just his jump kick combo and his hat throw.

Alright, there was a very hard setting on MK games, but with Noob Saibot, I defeated opponents in less than 20 seconds. Almost impossible, give me a break. Learn the character's moves people.

Ok... so in MK Trilogy Noob Saibot had the move that made the opponents attacks do no damage, hell, you even didn't flinch. It was always going to be easy with that, you could train a monkey to win with Noob. But with everyone else it wasn't so easy. Btw, it was an overexaggeration to emphasise the point, the games are getting too easy.

I like the difficulty. I find most gfames too hard, but SM seems to be playable to me.
