Too bad that he didn't make it in Armageddon. But you know what, maybe the MK team might put him in there as a secret character, I think. Anyways guess that's life and IMO about MOtaro he's frickin' hard to beat _________________

There have been rumours that he wont make the cut, I can't see him the the magazine article either. I would love to see him return and will be incredibly disappointed if he doesn't. I've always wondered what happened to him and this is most likely his last chance for a come back. _________________ Can we get another nail in the coffin of culture theft?

The magazine article says "not pictured: Motaro (might not make the cut)" That doesn't mean he isn't in it, if they put him in MK:Deception Konquest Mode I think they will put him in MK:Armageddon...I guess It's a matter of being patient!

And if he returns, I guess I'll have a hard time getting pass Motaro seeing that he can deflect projectiles and stuff. >_< _________________

Seriously, let them just bring him back. I mean one more character is not going to make a diffrence people. I think there is another story behind the "there is no more room" thing.

|
| |
Well, there is a MASSIVE drawback to putting Motaro into this game.
The programming of his horse torso and his hind legs. As far as I know, every character can perform fatalities on any other character (Kintaro kills Onaga, Scorpion kills Shao Khan, Rain kills Moloch, etc) as well as a 4 way throwing system.
Now, they can cheat a little bit by making his humanoid torso and his front horselegs run on the same frame as an average human frame, however, therein lies the problem. Say someone performs a throw to Motaro. Motaro would have to have an entire new programming for his backside. And since each character has at least 4 different throws and around 20 fatality animations, we're talking about 1440 DIFFERENT animations for Motaro's butt ALONE.
I'm not a Motaro hater, nor a Motaro lover, but there is very little that points to the possibility of programming him into this game.
Now, you're probably thinking that the Shokan's arms and Onaga's wings are no different from Motaro's backside in terms of programming.
Well, if you assumed that, here is the proof otherwise.
For Onaga, his wings are built and attached to the main frame, but they are a simple setup of "wiggle textures", similar to Bo-Rai-Cho's belly and the female fighters breasts. Any actions that require the use of his wings are animated specifically for the character, such as special throws or fireballs, not too different from all the other characters.Hardly a difficult feat.
The Shokan are deviously simple. There is an animation that is recorded for the upper arms, then when they apply that to the Shokan character, the add a mirror program that makes the bottom set of arms perform the same thing, only a split second later giving the image of individual actions. For the arms performing different actions, it's a simple matter of recording another set of motion captured arm movements.
The rules just don't apply properly here for Motaro. That section of his body is far too large and yet, too important to use either of these techniques. He would have to have specific animations implemented for every single movement he performed, AND for all the reaction animations, otherwise his backside would be "freaking out" by not know what it was supposed to do in certain situations. Hell, Motaro's front half may just walk away from his back half.
Ooops... Hehe, guess I got carried away there, but this should clear up everything.
Just because the fans want it doesn't mean that they can do it. _________________ Highest Kreate-A-Fatality string: 11, with both normal fighters and giant class fighters. Ultimate Fatality!

Hey, no problem. I try and help where I can and I also try to avoid debates, so I explain a lot.
I hope others will understand what is said here.
In my personal opinion, I'd prefer to have a ton of extras aside from the normal game, instead of them putting so much focus on one character.
I mean, Moloch and Kintaro are the characters I'd LOVE to use in this game, but I'd be willing to sacrifice both of them if it ment that I could do more then just arcade. _________________ Highest Kreate-A-Fatality string: 11, with both normal fighters and giant class fighters. Ultimate Fatality!

Motaro will be missed, he's an awesome character. But you won't see me complain if pretty much every other character is in the game. _________________ "...don't think it's yours just 'cause you marked it with your urine."

the game isn't finished yet, they will probably have him in it. if boon hated kintaro why wouldn't he bring back motaro? trust me he'll probably be in it.

excellent explanation! besides I doubt there would be alot of combos for him, seeing as he's a centaur and they are retricted to certain movements. _________________

I dunno, Daneasaur's point was incredibly valid... unfortunately. Why bother spending so much time and disc space on only one character? Kintaro will be put in for the simple fact that it's a matter of changing goro's 'costume', ok maybe a bit more than that but you get the picture... and also to achieve as many characters as possible despite who hates whatever character. If Konquest mode or something similar suffered because time was spent on sorting out Motaro I wouldn't be best pleased. The way I'm looking at it, I'm already accepting he won't be included and then if he is I'll be pleased rather than the other way round. _________________ Can we get another nail in the coffin of culture theft?
