Only if the DVD supports Region 2 or the DVD player is multi-regional.

Australian DVD's are REGION 4.
UK DVD's are REGION 2.
This is the only thing that will stop you playing DVD's either way, as Australia and UK are both PAL...that doesn't come into it, so if you player is Multizone / Multi Region you will be fine.
