I'd say the MK3 series or MK2... maybe Deception. But definitely not MK1 or MKDA.

I was very very close, myself to choosing MK2, but the I realized that I was more shocked at some of the Fatalities in Shaolin Monks. The Saw Mill Fatality was quite brutal and Liu Kang joint break Fatality looked painful as hell. Basically, I picked Shaoling Monks over MK2 because almost all of the fatalites from MK2 are there, only more graphic (to an extend, not perfect) and then some.

I would pick MK-Shaolin Monks. Because of one of Kung Lao's fatalities which would be the Buzz Saw. I mean slicing you in half starting from the..... well you know *looks down* Now that's more brutal than Scorpion's flame fatality or Sub-Zero's spine rip. 
PS: Must do Kung's Buzzsaw fatality to Kitana later on.
