Smoke (cyborg) is definitely the best, as he can pull off very quick hitting combos and kill anyone in seconds.

this is true, smoke is really fast, but i am still convinced that sektor can whoop his ass

I have to go with Sektor. On my friend's SNES version I completly abuse the lock-on missiles sometimes just to be cheap and ensure victory. But when I'm playing seriously I use his other moves, which are kick ass. His fatalities are badass and his story is good too.
Therefore, for standard MK3, Sektor hands down (though Smoke is 2nd).

Narrowing it down to just two characters is not that great of an idea. I understand that MK3 was the worst game character wise, but it did have some solid good characters like Cyrax and Motaro, characters people miss. Just narrowing it down to two and making one of those two be a character from every other MK is not that smart poll wise. No offense, of course. Just saying.

never say that about MK3! With characters like kabal, sindel, nightwolf, the cyborgs, etc. you are dead wrong that it was the worst MK game characterwise. Anyway, i would've said nightwolf cause of how cool he is but you just can't beat Kung Lao's 7-hit kombo!

Kung Lao's 7 hit was may fave combo and one that i still remember hp,lp,hp,lp,lk,lk,hk it looked wicked but I realy liked Shang Tsung and I was a bit upset in MK-DA cuz he can no longer morph...
and I was up set that Scorpion & Reptile were not in MK3 butt I liked all the new players that come in to MK3.
