|
| |
First of, the person who voice acted Shao Kahn, the person who says "Fight and Round One" etc in MK 2 and 3 has a brilliant voice! Much better than the one in the restg of them...
I hope he will return as the person who says fight etc in MKArmageddon...
So that means if it HAS to fit in the story line that Shao Kahn makes a great come back..
But, if he doesn't get to say those things, they should get him back to say stuff like:
"You are nothing!",
"Don't make me laugh!",
"You Will Die Mortal!"
etc etc etc...
Meaning, in the actual fighting bits, like he did in MK2 and 3...
I have forgoten the voice actor's name but go to:
www.imdb.com and look for Mortal Kombat II, go to more actors bit in the list of names and look for Shao Kahn... I think he has only ever done Mortal Kombat but I could be wrong...
---
Would you want this same voice actor to return? _________________ Woe to you o' earth and sea, for the devil sends the beast with wrath, for he knows the time is short, let him who have understanding reckon the number of the beast, it's number is six hundred and sixty six...

His name was Brian Glynn, and since he hasn't done the voice since MK3, I doubt he'll come back.

Well, the voice that they had for Shao Khan in Deception for GC was very sutable, but unfortunatly I don't know who did it.
We'll just have to see. _________________ Highest Kreate-A-Fatality string: 11, with both normal fighters and giant class fighters. Ultimate Fatality!

They got Brian Glynn back to do the voice for Shao Kahn in the Gamecube version, it was mentioned by the team in one of the videos about tracking him down someware in California and getting him to do the voice talent. He is awesome as Shao Kahn...always through his taunts gave that character so much life, who knows...when they were recording his voice for the GC version of MK:D they might of got him to record samples for MK:A....

What does he say in MK Deception? Because I haven't got that game yet...
Or even better, you could post some audio samples!
As I said, it would be awesome if he was the "fight" person in Armageddon! _________________ Woe to you o' earth and sea, for the devil sends the beast with wrath, for he knows the time is short, let him who have understanding reckon the number of the beast, it's number is six hundred and sixty six...

Are you sure it's that man who does the voice? I've now read something on wikipeida (sorry for spelling) and typed in Mortal Kombat, went to Shao Kahn and it said something like:
Shao Kahn: Briggs [whoever]
Shao Kahn's Voice [someone else]... _________________ Woe to you o' earth and sea, for the devil sends the beast with wrath, for he knows the time is short, let him who have understanding reckon the number of the beast, it's number is six hundred and sixty six...

The Wikipedia articles are being put together by people. They're just as reliable as everything2. lol
I'd trust the official movies that the MK Team and Midway provided on their own disc.

So it is Brian Glynn then?
Fine, I just want to know. Shame he hasn't done anything else. His voice could be great for a bad guy on say Doctor Who!
What about him as my fav Dr. Who baddie? Davros!!! His voice would rock for it!
Or just another Dalek!
Or mabey the master! _________________ Woe to you o' earth and sea, for the devil sends the beast with wrath, for he knows the time is short, let him who have understanding reckon the number of the beast, it's number is six hundred and sixty six...

The actor who wore the Shao Khan costume and recorded his moves.
That voice and body are two different people.

Brian Glynn = Motion actor for MK2 and 3
Steve Ritchie = Voice of Shao Khan
Says so in the credits of MK trilogy. _________________ Highest Kreate-A-Fatality string: 11, with both normal fighters and giant class fighters. Ultimate Fatality!

So what, did they use motion capture tech for MK2? I didn't know it existed back then... _________________ Woe to you o' earth and sea, for the devil sends the beast with wrath, for he knows the time is short, let him who have understanding reckon the number of the beast, it's number is six hundred and sixty six...

No. Motion Capture wasn't used until MK4. What he is referring to is the actor who was digitized to become a sprite in-game ala the movie, Tron.
The actors were zapped by a sentient supercomputer, turning them into the binary code that was copied to then act out the game inside the Arcade Machines. The other actors were retrieved from the machines after the Arcades closed down; Bryan Glyn and Steve Richie were not...
...They have become "Ghosts in the Machines"
Sweeping qucikly back to reality however, you should know that digitization is the process where the actors performed moves in front of camera equipment linked to a computer. Boon n' co would then select frames from the digitized selection to use in game. Bryan Glyn was digitized to portray Kahn in MK2(?) and MK3. Steve Richie provided the voice and since Kahn plays announcer in his tournament, he also provided the vocals for the round as well as the Kahn taunts. As you know, "Finish Him" and "Fatality" were the products of his voicework in these games. _________________ Court's Adjourned! LEGALITY!

I think it would be a cool idea if they had custom announcers like in Dead or Alive. Like you can unlock Reptile saying "FIGHT!" or Ermac or whatever... that would be fun. _________________
