 The prime reason Li Mei has defected to Onaga's side was because her taint from the ancient soldier supressed her will to resist!! If it weren't for the Deadly Alliance, Li Mei would stay as a normal sexy woman for all of her life.

maybe miletichz was posting this as a way of saying his opinion, maybe to spark a debate. such as, perhaps it wasn't just Li Mei's soul being in the ancient soldier that caused her to be on Onaga's side. lots of women are attracted to power... maybe that had a hand in it.
just a thought. ^_^;

Or maybe she just knew the only being big enough to 'satisfy' her was Onaga.  He's taller than Goro, Motaro, even Shao Kahn!
Power and Sex combined are more than enough to convince Li Mei to join him I reckon.

Back to the topic, well if you have seen the MK-Armageddon trailer, Li Mei was shown running alongside with the heroes like Jax, Kitana, Cyrax, Ermac, SUb-Zero, etc. so I guess this would mean that her ending in MKD did not come true, but who knows anything can happen in this crazy world of MK.

*sigh* maybe she really was in love with him. the only way we could know is to ask Ed Boon what the deal was with Li Mei's ending. until then, my speculation is that she was either in love with Onaga, or was attracted to his power.

Sounds like Li Mei's ending. I agree with ChibiHana, she saw the power he offered and decided to join him. He made her his 'queen' (and probably his bitch).

Actually I have the real answer. I kind of stumbled across it whilst browsing MKOnline game endings:
Li Mei's Bio excerpts:

From what I gather out of this, her brief time in the Dragon King's ancient soldier's body tainted her soul. Even after she was saved, she felt drawn to Onaga. This is probably because his army was unwavoringly loyal to Onaga, and her brief time in one of their bodies tainted her to feel the same way.
Nevertheless, I still think she was in it partly to ride the Dragon King.
Plus she's a cowardly slut:
