There is word of a new fighter well not really but there will be Thimbou (No not just some made up fighter) he came from the Mortal Kombat First movie you know the black guy that liu kang beats and shang tsung takes his soul and he had some awesome dreads!!! well thats Thimbou and for once he will be fighting!! (Yay!!!)

not sure where you heard this rumor, but I doubt there's any validity to it. maybe you can make a kharacter that looks like him, but that's probably the closest you're gonna get to him.

Yeah, there's no way they're going to put such and oscure character unless in Konquest by some strange terms. Plus, the movie's are as far from canon as they can get, I don't think they want to mix the two together.

it does sound unlikly to me that theyed put such a obscure dude as that in the game as well but if they do i hope hes better than KOBRA:angry: what the hell i nearly cryed. Any way the roster is so huge already - not much room for new guys and with this being the last in the kurrent seris I am sure any new Kharictors will kick as like Havack did.

In what way are the movies 'as far from canon as they can get'? The first one followed the mk1 storyline (tournament on shang's island, fighters invited to compete, etc) and the second followed the mk3 storyline (kahn resurrects sindel to invade Earth, merges the realms, sends out extermination squads, etc) IMO, the movies are the only thing I consider canon. every game has so many subplots and every character has their own story that obviously they weren't going to put all that into the movies. It's not needed for the basic story to be told. Both movies follow the game storyline pretty well imo, from mk1 to mk3. i think they got the basic idea down good enough. plus Every games story turns out to be bullshit when the next game comes out, so the only ''story'' that counts imo as far as the games go is the intros. Everything else is purely for entertainment value.
The current games are a real mess storywise imo, if those were made into movies they'd be more like Star Wars, except not as good. They have so many worlds involved in this 'simple tournament' that it's more like ''Galactic Kombat'' than mortal kombat. They should have left it being between Outworld and Earth, it wasn't necessary to have a half dozen planets involved in mk. MK was always about keeping Earthrealm safe from invasion from Kahn, as it should remain.
Obviously the movies are not canon to the more recent games (mk4 - mkd) since those were not made at that time. But it definitely does follow the mk1 -3 storyline. Anyone can see that. I'm sure if they made any sequels they'd follow the mk4 - mkd storyline, but without all the minor character subplots. I think the movies give the chars more personality and interaction than the games ever could. All the chars ever do in the games is fight each other for reasons unknown until we beat the game. Most of the endings get changed to something else by the time the next games come out so how can any of the game subplots be taken seriously anyway? They are nothing more than a 'what if so and so wins' scenario. Call that canon? I don't.
As far as that dreadlock guy in the first movie; why would they put him in any mk game now? I think that's false, there's no way that would happen. Although Reptile does resemble the mk movie reptile alot more now. If he could change colors he'd be just like that.

There are points among the Movies that violate Canon. Nightwolf living in the desert. Jade being only evil, and asian. Kahn and Raiden as brothers. Goro being defeated by Johnny Cage. SEVERAL Noob Saibots, Scorpion teleporting anyone to hell before MK4's ending. Johnny Cage somehow just walking out of hell. Jax getting bionic arms more as a removable attachment. Motaro being roughly Sindel's size. Rayden getting his status removed instead of him voluntarily giving it up. Kano Dying. Reptile dying. Kahn having an animality. Shinnok being anyone's daddy. Liu Kang refusing to take his quest for the White Lotus. Liu Kang living in the US/HK. Johnny Cage not being respected as a Martial Artist (This was added later to the plotline). Goro didn't do any special moves. No Kintaro. Outworld didn't look like outworld. Lack of courtyard. Rolling cages to travel between realms. Mileena. Just wrong.
And that's all I can think of off the top of my head.

Don't forget about in the MK:A where there are threee different Retiles...WAY OFF! And the fact the Noob Saibot comes oout of Ermac... and whatever the hell those tattoos were supposed to be. Smoke shotting missles, Scorpion with two spears, Raiden not being able to participate in the first Mortal Kombat, The fact that there were only to elemental gods and neither shinnok nor Raiden were considered elder gods at any point when Shinnok was one and Raiden was one but gave it up to be in the tournament,
I don't see how anyone could find it canon at all...

Yeah and Shao Kahn using a whip in the beginning. The movies shouldn´t get intertvined with the games´ storylines.
