well since this going to be the last mortal kombat game with this generation of characters which most likely means a good bit will b killed cuz this basically da last game dealing wit the war with good and evil...since there wont b alot of good characters dat we all love and enjoy that may not make it to next games cuz of Armageddon for example: scorpion, sub zero, reptile, baraka, lui kang (fuck if he dies das kool cuz he gets annoying anyways), raiden, shao kahn etc....do you guys thank that the new games that comes out for the PS3 and X-Box 360 are gonna be completely shitty cause after Armageddon you will never EVER see any of the characters you liked or that you were used to seeing be on the next upcoming mortal kombat games unless you were playing MK1-MKD? i thought about this for a while just didnt have time to post it

Anyway. I never had a good relationship with change. I fear that the new game will die fast and, through desperation will bring back old characters for the hell of it. But if they don't, yeh very worried. I mean, look at some of their newest characters:
Kobra : A guy who shoots fireballs
Darrius : A guy who shoots greenish vlue fireballs
Dairou : A guy who kicks fireballs
Shujinko : A guy who shoots everyone else's fireballs.
They have to face the fact that they are running out of ideas and unless they have some REALLY good stuff in mind that doesn't involve fucking fireballs, newness is not a good thing.

i agree with bloodyshadow im tired of corny new characters like Cobra man how i loved killing him on Deception hes just stupid so is Darrius i neaver used him all i know is that i hated the way he looked.

Going by the way you discribe those characters, that'd make Kobra liu Kang, Darrius Johnny Cage, Shujinko Shang Stung, and Dariou special. But thats not all there is to these characters. Kobra's fighting styles are very fast and powerful and his specials are great (Teleporting punch is great for getting opponets off guard) Darrius has some crazy fighting styles (I love his guantlents) and his specials are very unorthadox that they just plaijn work wonders. Dariou I cant really comment on, for I dont use him that much. And Shujinko is just the new aged everyone user, Like SHang Stung was to MK1-3, and Shinnok in MK4. But, he has a very powerful weapon style, and the assortment of moves he uses are a nice line up. Just a thought.

Even IF Kobra and all those characters had some good moves, no one likes them (at least not most people). Their stories sucked ass, their actual costumes and design were pitaful, and they all-round sucked.
I too am worried that once most of the MK klassic kharacters are killed off, MK just won't be the same. At least up until this point, there's always been room for "they'll be back" whereas with the whole talk of Armageddon killing most characters for good, it kind of destroys the whole wanting to see the next game.
With MK -AR having 60+ characters, a lot of them fan favourites, improved Konquest mode, arial kombat, kreate-a-kombatant, -kusomize your fatalities, etc, how does the MKTeam expect MK8 to compete with MK7 or previous games?
I just hope this whole "we'll kill most of the classics" changes to "we'll kill off some of the older characters for good" (i.e. Stryker, Motaro, Sheeva, etc) while keeping people like Rain, Smoke, Mileena, etc.

In most of the MK games are characters who aren´t much popular:
MK3-Stryker
MK4-Kai, Reiko, Tanya
MKDA: Mavado, Hsu Hao
MKD: Dairou, Darrius, Kobra.
But there are also good and popular characters:
MK3: Kabal, cyborgs
MKDA: Frost
MKD: Ashrah, Havik, Hotaru.
So I don´t think it´s so terrible

as soon as i got deception and saw Kobra i was like what the heck is this he looks like some homeless drugaddict then i killed with Shao-Kahn it was fun, but i realy hope miday kills meaningless characters like Kobra,Stryker,Mokap,Motaro and some others but as long as Scorpion,Sub-Zero,or Reptile survive ill be happy.

I am worried about the same thing. The next gen MK's could be what kills off MK. So much change most of the time isnt that good. Now, it needs to change because alot of it is getting stale...lets just hope they have very interesting ideas in store.

I think most of us are worried about the change cuz it works fine the way it is. But like some1 said on a previus topic they wont kill mine [n Boons And probably most of us] fave scorpion the dude is death and raiden [ new evil raiden] oh the fun to be had.  
do you all remember raiden's original ending in the first game.

Yeah, they can't really change Raiden's character so drastically then just kill him off. I'm not going to say one way or another now whether a fresh start will be good or not.....it could be good, but then again it could have a roster of Drahmin, Cobra, Tsu Hau (dunno how you spell it, don't care) etc. I'll pass my judgement when I see it.
