MK Annihilation did have part of MK4 (even if Shinnok had no reason whatsoever to be there), there was a rumor that this movie was going to skip the deadly alliance (Shang Tsung is dead) and move on straight to Deception and Armageddon.

Awsome, but one the prevoius post I read, the movie is going to a presequal. It's going to be based on Sub-Zero.

Really? Awsome, but someone said on another thread about the 3rd movie on this messageboared, that Robin Shou is will not be Liu Kang, because the people over the movie doesn't want to pay the orginal acters, that's why the productions keeps moving later, and later., so they doing a presequel on sub-zero.

I have also heard this rumor elsewhere.....I'd be pretty dissapointed if they actuall went through with that, but a Sub-Zero movie isn't too bad a compromise.....

...some random guy said that Shou was wrong and you believe him DJ Brothel? Sorry...but there's no proof what-so-ever that the script was a scrap...too many rumors have been floating around and no assumptions can be made...

No one said Shou was wrong, but that prequel rumor is not confirmed, even if he said so. After all, many scripts have been written in the past 9 years.

I heard at wikipedia it was based on mk: sub-zero mythologies. yet theres still no word from the makers so who knows.

Most of the info (specially on things not yet released) is false, and I know me and a few others who have had to fix things around because of it.

...whether or not we've all had our doubts on wiki...the Mythologies-based information links quite well and that was supposedly the latest script turned in...it's not official...though we've had no greater word...

...I know it won't be based on the Mythologies game...if they don't have a large budget I can't see any of the Elemental Gods coming out looking good...much less right...and they already fucked Shinnok...perhaps they would base it off of something entirely different and storyline-original...

Man, thay just keep coming out with rumors for the movie, examples.
Rumor: According to MortalKombatOnline.com, Robin Shou, who starred as Liu Kang in the first two films, supposedly contacted them to state that the most recent script is a prequel focusing on Sub-Zero as the protagonist, with none of the cast from the earlier films returning.[3] However, the site doesn't provide a source for this information, and it may be false.
Rumor: Another rumor claims that Devastation will bypass Annihilation completely, citing the second film's poor performance and reception. [4]
Rumor: This movie is going to be based on the games Mortal Kombat: Deception and Mortal Kombat: Armageddon, the script is going to be re-written after the release of the last game mentioned
So *when ever* the movie comes out it'll be based on *some MK game* and will *not* have Robin Shou in it, or at least according to the rumors...
