In mortal kombat1 was that Hanzo (before scorpion) or is Hanzo already dead and hes scorpion? (Even though it says Scorpion in the game)

He was Scorpion, not Hanzo. He had the skull head and entered the tournment only to revenge his death.

Ah,ok thanks..clears it up a bit...but how'd Sub-zero and Hanzo get into fights anyway? Rival clan battles?

Yes, Sub-Zero (Lin Kuei) vs. Scorpion (Shiray Ryu)
Sub-Zero killed Scorpion during MK Mythologies. And Scorpion became a spectre in Netherealm and then joined the first tournament only to klii Sub-Zero. Sub-Zero was there to kill Shang Tsung for Lin Kuei

I couldn't find the thread, but I answered this question once before. Quan Chi ordered the deaths of Scorpion's family and clan, and then told Scorpion that it was Sub-Zero who did it. later, Scorpion found out the true culprit, so now Scorpion and Sub-Zero are cool.
if I'm wrong, though, then someone knowledgeable correct me, 'kay?

wasn't it after the second tournament that scorpion wanted to kill sub for murdering his family?
during MK2 he just wanted revenge for his death, but he saw that it wasn't the same subzero he fought so many years ago.

MK1 scorpion is after revenge for his murder not his family and clan

here is scrpions MK1 Ending
Marked for death years ago by the Lin Kuei, Scorpion was murdered by Sub-Zero. He left behind a wife and child in his former life but was allowed to return and avenge his death.
Even with Scorpion's triumph in the Tournament and new title as Grand Champion, the price he paid was high. He can never again know his family and must exist forever with his secret curse.
then MKII scorpions Bio
The hell-spawned spectre rises from the pits. After learning of Sub-Zero's return, he again stalks the ninja assassin - following him into the dark realm of the Outworld where he continues his own unholy mission.
Then his MKII Ending
Upon learning of Sub-Zero's reappearance, Scorpion enters Shao Kahn's tournament. He witnesses Sub-Zero spare the life of an opponent and realises that this is not the same Sub-Zero who murdered him so long ago.
He lets the ninja live and goes on to defeat the Outworlders in their unholy contest. With the defeat of Shao Kahn, he discovers a new purpose for his existence. He becomes the guardian of the new Sub-Zero to atone for murdering his older brother.
His UMK3 Ending
Scorpion is inadvertently released from his damnation in hell when Kahn's Plan to overtake that realm goes awry. Free to roam Earth, Scorpion is enlisted by the Emperor to aid him in his quest to destroy the chosen warriors.
But, his allegiance to Shao Kahn falters when he discovers one of the chosen warriors to be Sub-Zero. Scorpion has vowed to protect the former ninja as restitution for killing his brother.
Shao Kahn finds himself the victim of his own scheme as Scorpion is forced to turn against him, he destroys the Emperor and the Earth is returned to normal.
Scorpion finds himself once again roaming the pits of Hell, only to one day rise again.
None of the family or clan stuff is mentioned untill MK4 when Quan Chi arives on the sceen and scorpions ending goes like this [actual video ending avalible to view here @ ]

scorpion says to sub "with your death the souls of my family and clan will be at piace"
Sub says "Its true I killed you but the true Killer of your family and clan still remains free"
enter Quan Chi who than revals that he did it all along and has played them both for suckers [but not in those words]
scorpion is being sent back to neather realm so he lunges at Chi and takes him along for the ride which is why Quan Chi is in neather at the start of the story in MK-DA.

I think I know why you did think that they are enemies. You probably watched trading card videos (MK Deception), where it mentions that
Scorpion
-Enemies: Quan Chi Drahmin, Moloch, SUB-ZERO
Sub-Zero
-Enemies: Quan Chi, Hotaru, SCORPION
So if even they made mistake, why couldn´t you?

MOST OF YOU ARE WRONG! SUB-ZERO'S AND HANZO'S BATTLE WAS NOT BECAUSE OF RIVAL CLANS! They fought because they were both sent on the same mission to get some sort of map for Quan Chi,but just so happened sub-zero and hanzo both arrived and BOTH decided THEY were gonna bring it back.They both fought for the map.This resulted in Hanzo's death (sending him to the netherrealm) He begged to come back.He asked Lucifer (Satan) which was the leader of the netherrealm at the time.He would have to pay a terrible price.HE COULD NEVER RETURN TO HIS FORMER LIFE! He came back and found his whole clan and family slain.Receiving word that sub zero "killed" them.He wanted to come back so he could take revenge.He wanted to kill subzero.Because Sub-Zero Killed his clan and FAMILY! or DID HE?! MUAHAHAHAH!!!!
