Kahn is definitely the best ruler by far. All Shinnok does is mimic other people's moves. Recall from MK 4 when Shinnok was the main boss and u had to fight him. If u played as him, he was like Shang Tsung, only he did not morph into the character he was fighting, but mimiced their moves, like I already stated. Kahn is his own character with his own special abilities, like the ability to shoot projectiles, the familiar shoulder charge. The man is a human weapon for crying out loud: weapons on his shoulders, on his fists, and to follow up, a huge hammer. Where can u go wrong with this guy? He is the ultimate killing machine, despite the fact he has lost so many times at the forces of Earthrealm. Look at all those fights he has won against the forces of good. Kahn needs to remain in Mortal Kombat because he is the foundation of this game and also the main villain, which is before Onaga returned to claim his throne.

I like Onaga far more...Kahn could only defeated by poisoning him...or with the help of Goro...pussy...
...Onaga's just perfect for the game...love it...

There's a bit of an issue with the poisoning theory. In Kahn's ending, it said he fought him as he did many years ago, but other sources say he simply poisoned him.  Just a wii bit of confliction there.
Besides, Onaga is was bigger than Kahn in all aspects, (well..nvm I'm not going there) and he needed the help of Goro because he's still weak from the defeat from MK3. Kahn pwns all villains in MK.

Why not do both poisoning your enemy does give you an advantage in battle especially if they are struggling to breathe. Besides Shao Kahn is a liar and I wouldn't believe anything he says

You have a point, but it still seems unlikely that he'd just have poisoned him, otherwise he'd have a crappy reputation and wouldn't have been accepted as Outworld ruler. If he poisoned him secretly and THEN defeated the once great Onaga, then the Outworld races would legitimatly fear Shao Kahn and would bow before his might. So it was probably a mixture of both.

It would need some really strong poison to weaken Onaga, that guy isn´t really small in stature. But fear and terror has always had a good grip on people and how to control them.

One bite from a Black Widow would take him down easily. |
Considering his anatomy is far different from ours, I wouldn't be certain about that. Then again, a bee sting could be enough to take him down if it affected his body differently from ours...And enough bees stung him.
