Post subject: Fighting Smoke in the MK2 game |

In the original MK2 game, this is how you fought Smoke:

Now, I know it has been stated before that it is impossible to fight Smoke in the Shaolin Monks playable version of MK2, because when the start button is pressed, a menu pops up. However, since there was no start menu in the original MK2 game, the start button simply made your character block.
With this in mind, has anyone tried blocking (after following the steps above) instead of pushing start when playing the Shaolin Monks version of MK2? I doubt this will work, but since the start button acted as block in the original MK2 game, it may require you to press block in the Shaolin Monks version to fight Smoke instead of start.
Just something that I've been thinking about for a long time but never bothered to bring it up.

Challenge him how,does he just like pop up on the screen and challenge you when you win 50 matches,and how can you monitor hw many matches you win.

Well it keeps track of your wins then at the 50 it says a new challenger awaits you at the so and so arena and it loads right to him being there to fight.

If you want to block on the MK game in MKSM, all you gotta do is hit one of the houlder buttons. It's as simple as that. The only thing that sucks is that you can't use friendships, or babalities in the game. The fatality sequences from the SNES, or SEGA Genesis still work so if you wanted to do Reptile's Decapitation, Sub-Zero's Deep Freeze, or Scorpion's Toasty! Fatality, then you can do so. Also, the Stage Fatlality sequences are the same.

I know this was posted about 2 months ago, but I wanted to clarify that "yes" you can pull off both friendships and babalities in MK2 thats found in Shaolin Monks.
I just pulled them off today.
You have to remember however, that you cant use punches in the second or last round. Only kicks.
When the fatality sign flashes, try it and you'll see it work. 
BTW, I just purchased Shaolin Monks last night and I'm enjoying it so far.
I'm a little sad however that in order to get the rest of the extras, I need a second player to participate with me. Seeing that I have no one to play with...it may be a while before I get to unlock certain features or experience the fun of Ko-Op mode.

I got the Ko-op secrets myself- it´s harder to complete the Ko-op game, when playing alone, but it´s possible. Yeah, I´m fanatic, when unlocking secrets is concerned 
Btw. I can feel your pain, I also don´t have anybody to play these games with. My brother doesn´t like MK
