About the Playstation 3:
1) Will the PS3 you buy directly posess auto network play?
2) Will you be able to play PS1 AND PS2 games on the PS3?
(I directly wanna create a char. and make it kick ass!  )

2. Yes, you can play ps1 and 2 games on it.

By question 1 I mean:
In MKA you will be able to create a character and fight other playes characters online...
If I buy a PS3, will I directly be able to go online? (Without buying any extra packs)

I'm not sure I know that I had to buy a $25 cat 5 cable wire to plug from the back of my PS2 and then I had to buy a 50 dollar router so I can have both my puter and MKD so.I don't know how yours is setup , but I'm sure people could help if you could give them a better explanation.

I thought sony said they weren't going to be putting the two red lasers required for DVD because the bluray was too expensive. Thus no backwards compatability.

it was reported that Sony spokesperson Reiko Sakamoto told the press, "It's hard to say the PlayStation 3 will be 100 percent backwards compatible, but as we said earlier this year we aim to make it so as much as possible."

That's from a number of sites. And if they use the SPCH-7500 bios for PS2 emulation, then it won't play games like Tekken 5.

Hopefully they can make it so you can play backwards games from ps2 to ps1 if they don't i probably wont buy one and stick to my ps2 pretty much and just wait till the xbox 360 gets down to good price range and buy one.

Theoretically, the ps2 emulator should be able to emulate psx games. Though that list of incompatible games has expanded with the release of the new bios.
