|
| |
I found out through game play that Noob Saibot is, in my honest opinion, the most cheap and unfair character in the game. Let me explain why:
His smoke blast move is just insane. I was able to beat UMK3 with just using that, then run up and uppercutting my enemy twice every time (for Motaro, jump kicks do the trick since the projectile doesn't work on him). I've never once see the attack blocked, and even if you can block it, it's still overly cheap. It makes opponents unable to hit you and block your attacks, leaving them vulnerable to anything.
Also, his shadow toss (sends out a copy of himself to throw the opponent) is pretty cheap because you can't hit the copy that's going to throw you. But this isn't nearly as cheap as his smoke projectile.
The simple fact that I, me, Amphibious, was able to beat UMK3 on very hard difficulty level, fighting on Master II column, using ONLY the smoke projectile blast, then running up to and uppercutting my opponents twice, and repeating, goes to show just how brutally cheap the move is.
On a side note, the smoke projectile should have been given to Human Smoke if ANYONE, not Noob Saibot, for 2 reasons: in both UMK3 and MKT, Human Smoke is a hidden character, meaning he should have superior attacks, secondly the attack is a SMOKE cloud, that in itself makes it more like a Smoke move.
Has anyone else noticed the absolute cheapness of Noob Saibot in UMK3/MKT? _________________

Yes, that´s why I don´t use him anymore. But at least he was only bonus character in UMK3 and he even didn´t appear in the arcade version
Another very cheap character is Rain. You can use his control ball repeatedly (like Noob´s smoke projectile), he has strong combos and the super roundhouse kick. _________________ DEVELOPER DIARIES

Actually, a cheaper tactic with Rain is to contantly use his lightening strike. Just before the person hits the ground after flying up in the air, do the attack again, and keep doing this until they die. If you do it even a second too late (ie after they hit the ground or are getting up) that attack can be either blocked, or it just won't hit them. _________________

And that´s why I think that Arcade UMK3 is the best ´MK3´ version. It´s well-ballanced and there aren´t the super cheap characters (Noob, Rain) _________________ DEVELOPER DIARIES

Actualy, Stryker was one cheap bastard himself. His Riot Klub Throw can hit both grounded and airborne targets, in KMT when he gets double grenades, they do a lot of damage, the Roit Klub sweep is stronger then a basic sweep, and he has a combo, which I have posted in a different topic, that can take away like half of the targets health. _________________

That´s why you like him so much?
And when I play against him, he still uses his stupid granades!!! _________________ DEVELOPER DIARIES

No, that's not what smiley was saying. Smiley said that they were in UMK3, which was a better version of MK3. It makes perfect sense.

I went digging through the topics and found my combo:
Stryker combo; Stay down street punk!
Uppercut, quickly use the Riot Klub Throw before they can recover, then wait half a second and use the Klub Sweep, then finish it off with a Double Low Granade. This should get them half way, or more towards death. Helps if you have a full Agressor meter _________________

i always thought kabal (even though hes badass) was vey cheap for his tonado move and when you recover from that attack u go after he but he keep blasting plasma at u even if u jump in the air he'll get u,then after u hit the ground he'll do the tornado and repeat all over again. _________________ Highest Fatality: 8: Vicous Fatality

They weren't (EDIT: playable) in the arcade, just the SNES and Genesis versions of UMK3.
And Noob and Rain in MKT are insanely cheap. Noob because of the disabler being too fast, plus his increased walking speed, and Rain because of how incredibly easy it is to get his infinite with either a rain ball, a lightning strike, or a roundhouse (the infinite being roundhouse, hp, roundhouse, hp, etc).
And also, Stryker does have some good combos, I saw Uppercut, dash, then club sweep followed by double grenade in there, and its a shame to ever try for something where every hit can be blocked when the character has so many combos.
Stryker you can get popup combo, riot gun, dash forward (it whiffs), hp, hp, wait a split second, riot gun, dash, hp hp, wait a second, etc etc until you get to the corner.
When Stryker has an opponent juggling in the corner you can get jump kick, hp, riot gun, jump kick, hp, riot gun but the spacing is a bit tricky to work out. _________________ UltimateMK.com - The ULTIMATE Source of Kompetitive Mortal Kombat Information

Actually, he was mentioning the arcade version of UMK3 which I don't believe featured Noob Saibot or Rain, which is why he said that was the best version of MK3 because it didn't have those two cheap characters. He wasn't saying that normal UMK3 (WITH rain/noob) was the best version, but the arcade UMK3 that didn't have them was the best one. _________________

And I'd say he is correct. UMK3 for the arcade was pretty much the best MK game ever for gameplay. _________________ UltimateMK.com - The ULTIMATE Source of Kompetitive Mortal Kombat Information
