No, there are not new characters, and thank Jesus...I highly doubt they could come up with anyone interesting what-so-ever. Basterds have hardly made any cool new characters within the past...III games.

I do not think they will add new characters with the 60+ character list they will have. There are already too many new characters in the games and so many storylines to make-up for them, why make new ones when this will be the last one? That was to answer the topic, but to show my respect to those out there who are fans of the ninjas, my favorite is Scorpion, obviously and I must show respect to Violater because I may have played with Rain, but I never liked him as a character. A guy with Lightning and force balls made of water? Come on, give me a break here. The guy is like a rip off from Raiden (i.e. Lightning Attack) and Reptile, who had the force ball, but not made of water. If he is a rip off, then so was Ashrah, who also had the ability to use Lightning as well, but she is not a ninja. The point here is that I'm strictly a Scorpion fan and that Rain is a rip off from two different characters before him.

They actually mentioned the 2 new Konquest characters in the Gamespot article. So there's 2 more to the roster. I'm also guessing we'll see maybe one or two others from Konquest become available. Let's face it, the roster has to be on 2 seperate sheets since there are so many characters, a couple more could be squeezed in there if they really wanted to.
But 60+ is enough for me.

Just to make a note for everyone....Rain will own this Mortal Kombat...we have waited too long for out time to kick a$$ and our time is now  And it was stated in the E3 Video on gamespot Ed said him self something along the line of....."there are 60 characters so you know that there is bound to be a ton of hidden characters" so there we go there will be more then sixty....yay for us.

I don't think so, Rain_Drop. For my first victim in MK Armageddon, Rain. He will burn in the fires of the Netherrealm. You think you can defeat Scorpion? Well, let's just see how good the "almighty" Rain is. You will never defeat him because Scorpion will exist to the end of time, as he is immortal and by far the strongest warrior alive. I will enjoy watching the flesh burn off your bones. So, infidel, GIVE UP NOW AND DEATH WILL COME QUICKLY!

Actually, the context of his words could be interpreted as some of the 60 will be the hidden characters, some not, as opposed to 60 characters, + hidden ones. I don't really care either way, considering this game is having all my favourite characters in it already.
