I find that when the site is lagging or loading really slow, just click the "Submit" button once and let it load, but be sure to copy and paste your post so that if the site temporarily goes down without posting you, you can always repost it again. If it does, then you'll only have posted it once.
But I've also had the times where it's made my post twice because I impatiently clicked Submit multiple times (once it made about 4 copies of the same, massive post). In that case (assuming no one has posted after you), you can delete the remade posts with the little x icon on the top, right side, above the post you made.

 Yeah I was so impatient with the site, I hit submit like a dozen times and it created so many of the same post. I was just glad no one posted a reply after I did that or I'd not have been able to deleted all but one of them. Then the mods would have been right up my ass about quad-posting.
