well i think mk2 and umk3 are kinda the balance out in difficulty because, the mk2 fighters were very annnoying in terms of throws, but umk3 the bosses are very annoying; so i am not sure which is harder.

I am pissed off know i got back from work last night dug my SNES out slaped in MKII and srarted to kick some ass when who do I find next to the question mark again but F@@@in J Kage again and he made me use all but one of my continues but then I pulled out the standed issue big gun [Scorpion] and gave him such a thrashing that the doctors said he'll be lucky to survive the week. ha and oh yeah children or out of the picture for that guy now Ha. Thats how statisfid i was when i did the fatality as he beet me so meany times on the Xbox version too. I got to Kintaro but he tock my last life.
My point MKII is the hardist and it is easyer on the SNES than Xbox. I'll try the Mega Drive version to night [if i can find it]

I disagree. Motaro's attacks were easy to avoid and they left him open to counterattack.
I do think MK2 was the hardest in the series, mostly because I always wanted to complete it by fighting the hidden characters as well. I think I only ever beat Noob Saibot twice.

I found MK2 to be harder for a number of reasons:
1.) You have to fight every character on the roster, plus Kintaro and Kahn
2.) This game was pre-combo MK, meaning you couldn't score a wack load of damage from a single combo
3.) The AI would always find ways to counter you as you went up the ladder, especially Kitana, Liu Kang and Johny Cage.
4.) Even on the easiest setting with maximum amount of credits, you'll often loose most of those by the time you get to Shang Tsung.
5.) UMK3/MKT featured playable characters such as Noob Saibot and Rain that allowed you to beat the game on any difficulty level with ease, MK2 did not feature such characters.
Honestly, I find MK2 to be the hardest MK game to beat. I've only ever beaten it on my Game Gear, but I've never beaten it on the Genesis, whereas I've been able to beat every other MK game.

All good points my friend. I also had MKII on Sega GG and remember compleating it. I had the GG to GG cable as well but no friends with MKII. So no 2 player action ever tuck place. My GG was stolen along time ago now any way so

i got my gameboy stolen 2 times one was in school when i was in grade 6 of elementary the principle took it and she never gave it back cause she said it was lost at the end of the day went to court and it solved nothing and my used to be friend got his game gear stolen too that time and another time i forgot my damn backpack in the movies and it of course when i went back the same day too look for it no trace of it anywhere os i lost my 2nd gameboy.

i can barley get pass shang tsung but anyway..i think the hardest game of the series would be 3,umk3,or trilogy cuz they have millions of hard dudes to beat and u have a certain amount of continues.. |
kintaro and motaro are hard kintaro always blocks and motaro does 1 attack and halve ur health goes

I never beat MKII but I had it for Genesis but the game always messed up and froze,I have it unlocked in SM but it's hard as shit!Same with MK:1 in Deception they should've let you adjust the difficulty the furthest I got on the SM MKII was to the 5 or 6th guy.

At least you have unlimited continues in the Deception version of MK1, as opposed to limited amount but you can adjust the difficulty level. I just kept at it until I finally beat the game.
