yo what the deal with reptiles new form hes like a ninja and a reptile as well, really he evoled and now hes devoling wth is going on with reptiles forms?

I think in Mk:SM they made reptile both a ninja and a reptile to keep the fans happy.remember that Mk:SM takes place during mk2 so if they branched off a series of games from Mk:SM imagine what reptile would look like then,now

I've always put down Reptile's changing form to bigger budgets and better graphics in the later games
Stroywise it may have to do with lack of contact with his poeple OR Shao Kahn gave Reptile as close to human form as possible so that he couldn't find out what race he truly belonged to and who was responsible for their genocide.

i didnt know about the kahn part,where'd u hear that from?

and in armaggeddon it's hard to see if there gonna use his all reptile forum or his shaolin monks form im hoping it's his deadly alliance all reptile form that one rocked.

i hope for mk:a they will just make an all new costume for reptile of all his outfits combined into one kick ass reptile costume.and maby the alt could either by the complete ninja suit or the primative reptile costume

1. This should go to the MKSM section
2. Reptile looks liek that, because he is supose to be like that, he was always a reptile, this look just reminds you that he is a reptile, just in a ninja outfit.

Basically, it was because they now can make characters look unique, not just pallett swaps. However, since Shaolin Monks had made a lot of other errors with regards to the storyline, you could argue that they just decided to do this to give him a new look or for whatever reasons, but that canonically, he still looked human in MK2.
I personally feel that in MK1, he looked human because he was supposed to be disguised. In MK2, he was fighting and back in Outworld, so it's likely he'd look less human. MK3, same thing applies, and he continued to look more reptillian along the way because he no longer had a reason to disguise himself as human.
