If saying the word crap is offensive, then I've probably offended every person I've ever talked to.
Amphibious, you're looking at things in a long term and less detailed point of view. What's to say that Kabal didn't go to Outworld for an hour and come back? That is why I said the statement was crap. They could have gone near the tournament at any time. Now, whether they made an impact or got involved is a whole different story.

whats Kabal up to in Outworld anyways? all i know is that hes killed their by kahn;s spuads.

1) Kabal was in Outworld together with another Black Dragon members to rescue Kano.
2) Kabal wasn´t wounded during MK2/MK:SM. Kahn´s squads attacked him during Kahn´s invasion (MK3).

As for Ermac, he was placed in the warrior shrine, which was seen in MK1, not MK2. This is why it's technically not a problem, as Ermac was seen in Mortal Kombat 1 (sort of, due to the glitch).
Personally, this is how I look at Shaolin Monks with regards to all the mess ups: Whatever happened in the game is canon, UNLESS it goes against anything from the previous MK games (ie Goro not being defeated at all in MK1, Jade's death, Kano's death, Raiden having powers to kill Kahn in Outworld, Liu Kang and Kung Lao being there when the Shaolin were being attacked by Tarkatan hordes, etc etc etc). There are so many mistakes with Shaolin Monks that it would be foolish to accept the whole game as canon, which is why I feel that anything in that game which goes against or overwrites stuff from the previous ones are not official. |
You are spot on with the Ermac thing but a lot of the Normal games do go against each other for example
As you said Raiden has no powers in out world. So why can you play as him in MKII MK-DA MK-D in out world using all his god like powers????
I also agree with the point that some one made with regards to Kabal being in out world Why not! Goro should have been defeted [but not killed] Well actuly this is a tricky one regarding the death of Jade Kano Baraka ect.. cuz after all some of the people would die in a tournement were the looser is FINISHED But Kage should have been one shorely thats why hes not in MK3 is it not? or was he hit by a bus on the way home or something?

The thing is also the only place that said Raiden didn't have no powers in the outworld was yet in mk 2 the movie which once again you can't believe half of the movie cause they didn't base it at all on the real mk 2 story which is sad but what can you do.

oh yeah thats right it was in the movie my bad 
But another example is in MK1 it is said that the tourniment is held once a generation yet it's some think kraking off every other week! Is this a reacent thing or did Khan just loose it after winning for 500 years and then it al went down the pan and he popped!
Don't get me wrong I do love it and don't realy think it's that mutch of a story letdown

Kahn basically had enough and first set up a fake tournament to distract Raiden, etc while Sindel was being (or had been not sure if she grew up there or just appeared as an adult) resurrected on Earth so he could get around the rules (though what gets me why didn't he think of this earlier instead of waiting several generations or did someone give him the idea  )

The plan began 10,000 years ago (as stated in the intro of MK3) but it probably took that long for Sindel to be born. So, even though there were all the Mortal Kombat tournaments, Kahn was planning to break the rules if he failed anyways, it just took that long for the plan to go into effect.

Wasn't Kabal attacked by Shao Kahn's troops durning him and the Black Dragon rushing the castle? I could have sworn that was mentioned in MK3. Maybe that was right before he was scarred. He traveled to Outworld to attack the tower and before he leaves he says "My brothers need me." Makes sense to me.
