lol, good for me you don't have a bamboo stick...
I dunno. for me, story takes precedent over action any day. from what I've heard, the action sequences from King Kong were great, but Marcus and I didn't stick around long enough to get to that because we were falling asleep in the theater.
I'm sorry to those of you who enjoyed the movie, but I just didn't enjoy what I saw, so I'm not motivated to try and see anything more of it.

...but you only saw half. You can't capture the greatness, the flat-out awesomeness, with only half a movie. I was bored as hell during the pre-thingy as well, trust me. But the second half...was definitely worth it.
And oh yeah, Shawshank Redemption! I know this seems to be an action movie topic, but you have to give credit where it's obviously due.

No, it's all movies, so don't regret your decision. Shawshank was an excellent movie.
As I said last time we had one of these, American History X is one of my all-time favorites.

I know that the movie was highly acclaimed, won lots of awards, and everyone seems to absolutely love it, but I think it could have been tons better if Peter Jackson would learn to edit his movies. he seems to have an affinity for making super long movies... Lord of the Rings trilogy, anyone?
don't get me wrong. he's not a bad director or anything, but I think that if he wanted to hold peoples' attention spans, he should have cut out the crap, condensed the story, and made the story, well... suck less.
now if you're like me, and you want a good movie with story and lots of action, that's not drawn out like King Kong, you'll love Final Fantasy VII Advent Children. excellent continuation of the FFVII story.

I definitely agree...LOTR III's ending was just...you know...unnecessary. After the climax, and the conclusion...it still never ends! Over half-an-hour of extra-ness just seems like...you know...too much!
But still, both were incredible movies...

American History X is a great movie. it's about a Neo Nazi (I think that's the proper term...?) who kills a guy and goes to prison and reforms and stuff... it's just... awesome.
it's a buy, not just a rent. get it. watch it. love it. <3

another movie I just thought of that I really liked was March of the Penguins. so cute and informative and Morgan Freeman's narration was great.

Equillibrium was a great movie. Christian Bale seems to be doing a great job in his streak of movies.
I still want to see Requiem for a Dream, but I haven't gotten around to getting it.

make sure you have an empty stomach when you watch Requiem for a Dream. you'll thank me later.
it's a good movie, though. it's what I like to call an "awkward" movie. things seem more true to life, and not so Hollywood-style scripted.
another good movie like that is called thirteen. I really liked that movie too. =)

yeah i like predator too, there was one part in the second predator when they had a news cast saying that they found bodies or something; and they found one person's head with their spine attatched. that reminded me of mk, lol.

...Man on Fire was a good flick...love the remake (not so much the original)...
...Christian Bale...wasn't he that guy in Batman Begins? I actually thought that was pretty good, good for him...
