I didn't hear that either. They said they'd be using the same function as Deception in that you switch to fatality then hit button combinations until you perform a variety of fatal moves or whatever.
Also, Konquest mode features 1-button fatalities only (see the gamespot interview for more).

I really like the idea of one-button fatalities...it just makes life that much easier...
...and I'm glad they're using the same function as Deception, I thought it was much more modern and conceivable...

I never heard that one either. I figured that with Deception's set-up that they would repeat it in order to make things a bit more interesting. Look at it this way: all characters will have to be at reasonable distances away in order to perform them and that is what counts. The parts that are accurate make the game that much more exciting.
