I'm not saying that they will be a team for the whole game, but I highly doubt that they will start the game off without them being somewhat of a team. It just wouldn't match the storyline.

Perhaps in the Konquest mode you'll see them break their tag team? Kind of like the Deadly Alliance.  They're the only MK villains to have won, and then they lost in the next game's intro movie. Or perhaps you could unlock Smoke as a seperate fighter?
I dunno how it would work to have them as a tag-team then not be.

I liked them as a team! They were a good pair if ya ask me. If I recall correctly, I think I saw Smoke on his own in the Konquest mode of Armageddon. If you watch the trailer for the game you can see him Teleporting in the Lin Kuei Temple after throwing his death stars at Taven (bear in mind, Smoke is on his own in this scene)
I assumed once I saw that scene that Noob and Smoke were seperate.

Yes...but Noob and Smoke were seperate in the Konquest mode for Deception as well...though you still fight with them together...(I'm sorry Amphibious)...

Once again i have to bring up the fact that this is just a beta build that was at e3 there's hell alot of more time left to october to fix all the stuff some game creators get too lazy to make everything brand new in the selection screen for a type of demo so they keep the same looking smoke and noob avatar in armageddon and that's that but then they fix that stuff later on before they released the game. Another reason no one can say 100 percent there tag teams again no where in any e3 videos did you see noob and smoke together for ingame action. so that eliminates anyone saying 100 there the same for armageddon again.

]{0MBAT: Vasculio wants to know if Noob and Smoke will be separated this time, since there are 64 characters.
Ed Boon: That's a good question, I guess that hasn't really been decided yet. You know, a lot of people liked the Noob/Smoke combo but having them as individual characters might be an interesting thing to do.
]{0MBAT: We noticed they were very close to each other in the wallpaper that has all the characters in it, we just weren't sure that meant.
Ed Boon: I would imagine that they would be available in their duo character mode, but separating probably wouldn't be too difficult to do, so that's something definitely that we'll look into.
So we know only one thing for sure. We have to wait

Yeah, I saw that. Ed has a very clever, fluid way of speaking where he can answer a question without telling you what you want to know. I honestly don't want them together, but with the possiblilities of the "Extra Kobra" maybe it is possible. And at least he said they'll "look into it" if not already in progress and he's just showboating.

I would also prefer to have them separated. Would be better that way. I mean both of them are classic characthers. They´ve been around since the beginning.

Hey, that's kick ass! Thanks for the heads up smiley98!  I probably wouldn't have come across that interview for a couple days if you hadn't mentioned it.
Perhaps they could actually do both, as in have Noob-Smoke (cyborg Smoke) as the tag team, but an unlockable human/ninja Smoke with his own ending, perhaps explaining how it was that he broke away from Noob Saibot and got his soul back. As you said smiley, we'll just have to wait and see.

Cory13 why is Kobra mentioned twice in that link you provided? and I didn't notice Jerek on there
I'm fine with Noob and Smoke fighting together makes it more interesting though I would prefer SEPERATE health bars
