I know, I'm so pathetic.
Anyway, I finally got a PS2, after years of begging for one, and my mum bought me one last week when she went to Scotland.
My aunt came over and let me borrow Deception, and I've been playing Konquest a bit, in between school hours and homework and stuff.
It's cool, and everything, but I'm stuck on the training with Bo' Rai Cho. It's the part where you have to sidestep his attack and counter it. I can't do it - I manage to get 2/3 and I end up taking away all his energy in his bar.
And I really need to finish the training so I can continue, because I really want some new characters and all that jazz, and I hate Bo' Rai Cho now. Last year, I went to Sharjah and visited my friend, and her brother and my brother played Deception the whole time. They were very good, and almost completed it in the 2 weeks I was there, and now I feel so bad and inferior. ;_;
Can anyone help me with this? Any tips on how to get past this part of the training...?

Just keep at it. try diferant aproches and what not.
I can't actuly remember thoes missions I'll have to go back and play it again

I believe this is the mission where you have to attack him while he is attacking...though I'm not positive...
...try crouching until he attacks, then the moment he attacks...uppercut him while still crouching...good luck...

Ooh, thank you.
I can always hit Bo' Rai Cho the first time, because there's space between him and Shujinko, but when I try to move backwards to put space inbetween again, he always manages to hit me.
I can't get past 2 - it's too difficult. I've tried about 10 times, and Bo' Rai Cho's really getting on my nerves!

So you don't know how to counter? Just hold block + toward him at the same time...it will stop his attack so you can punch him in the face...

Tried that already.
Nevermind. Thanks for your previous advice - I managed to do it, finally. There was 5 minutes left to the World Cup and I had to complete the mission and my brother was being quite annoying and trying to get me to turn it off.
Now I have my mum's TV in my room for a few hours with the PS2.
And I'm stuck again. It's the last part of the training, and it's supposed to be 'advanced combos'. There's got to be a catch to pressing Square, Circle, Circle, L1. Because IT DOESN'T DAMNED WORK!
I managed the first three. Then the style change doesn't do anything. Shujinko is just holding his weapon, and the combo's not complete.

...I find this combo technique to work very well...don't look at the screen at all...it normally confuses people...
...just walk up to him and look at your controller...do exactly what the combo is giving only a very brief pause between each button...
...on the style-changes...make sure to leave your guy at the style it starts you as...changing it will kill the combo...
...wait...you would rather play MK than watch the World Cup?!?

Eh, the World Cup sucks. My brother likes watching football. I don't. I'll probably only watch the final. I only like playing football, but I suck at it.
Thank you very much.
I managed to train with Bo', Sub-Zero, Ashrah and Ermac, and I defeated Noob-Saibot and Havik in battle. Managed to get the Kamidogu from Earthrealm, get to Netherrealm, got there, did some missions, and finally got the Kamidogu, saved it so I could come downstairs to check on the Internet just in case I missed a chest with a character Krypt Key in it, only I was in such a hurry, I turned off the PS2 while it was still saving.
*shoots self*
And I was so proud.  I managed to defeat everyone, when I thought I was awful at MK, but I didn't save it! *cries bitterly*

Haha, thank you. I feel loved.
Well, I got to Edenia yesterday. I was quite proud - last realm after only playing a day or so.
But Tanya's so damn hard to beat! The only reason I was really playing Konquest was to get all the characters for my aunt, because she asked me to get them for her.
So I suppose it's okay I didn't complete it. But I'm missing Kira, Liu Kang, Raiden and Shujinko now. Am I missing a lot without them?

...all but Kira are keypoints in making Deception awesome...so I'd try to find those suckers...and get all of Shujinko's moves...you're gonna have fun finding Liu Kang...

Yeah, I made a similar mistake -subbie-.
I had Shujinko in speed meditation and then the golden trunk showed up, but when I turned off speed meditation I was hitting the button so many times it kicked it back on, and I just missed it. So I had to meditate again for a while until the it came back, which was annoying.
