MK and Street Fighter are the only 2 fighting games I have played. I would be interested in getting another one for the PS2. Do any others have online play? Please recommend a game and if you have the time give some pros and cons and maybe compare a few for me. Thanks.

...well...I want to help you out...though I've played very few fighting games...
...besides MK...I believe Soul Calibur II is very entertaining...though it does not have online play...it contains a very long campaign mode that you may struggle with and have a hell-of-a-time accomplishing...the PS2 version has the main guy (can't remember his name) from Tekken...there are alternate outfits...secrets to unlock...an entire shop to buy with your income from completing the campaign mode...and many alternate weapons that you can have fun with...
...I found the game very original and entertaining...I hope I helped...

GET SOUL CALIBUR 3!!!! Seriosuly, its about the only fighting game that ranks high with MK. Its a lot better then number 2, though sadly, still no online play X_X

I got Soul Caliber 2 and Virtua Fighter 4 yesterday. Haven't played VF yet. SC is okay, but I can't see myself playing it for more than a week.
Thanks guys. My first player was nightmare. It's not as addictive as MK for some reason.

Nightmare is a decent start, but if you want a character to get hooked with, Try Talim, Taki, or Voldo. Talim was my starting character in SC2, but I later grew best with Seung-Mina and Cervantese. My mom tried nightmare first, but soon got deadly with Voldo. (Yes, sad to say, she is better at SC, then MK)

Nightmare's fun...and I love his look...though I got hooked on Link with the Cube's version...and I tried Spawn with the box...though he's not as good...

Spawn, link, and Heichi dont even belong in SC... I felt they actualy brought the game down. Though, Heichi was cheap as hell. If you Soul Charged and used his hammrer fist, it would take away half of the opponets lifebar (at 100%) though it sucks in SC3 that they dont have a fist fighting style for the create a soul mode. Yea, you can make characters to use, and they get their own styles and such. My fav/best are the kunai, which were based off of Taki's style.

i like pretty much every fighting game in arcades now i just like that they are good games that you can play for like 2 or 3 coins lol i am cheap like that

King of Fighters 2006 was released recently and is quite fun to play. Then we have Guilty Gear X. But I would stick with SC3. It´s fun and has a lot of hidden stuff.

tekken 5 was alright but its kinda slow at first but once you learn the all the combos it gets kinda fast

I like SNK vs Capcom, Soul Caliber/2, and Marvel vs Capcom. Some of those are for the Play Station One only.

I'm definately going to have to say that Soul Calibur III is one of my all time favorite fighting games. I also like Tekken, and Dead or Alive. I really cannot stand Street Fighter anymore. It got ridiculous in my opinion.

I totally disagree theres alot better games than soul calibur3 tekken5 is good if you have a playstation3 you may wanna get tekken6 but on ps2 street fighter alpha anthology is great king of fighter games are also pretty good theres alot more just not much online play..........
